FINALLY! I've had certain questions about the diverter on composting toilets, and women, and no one ever addresses it!
@KeriKalmbach2 жыл бұрын
My friends love their Airheads and Separett (sp?) DIY setups. Love my composting toilet but not thrilled with my choice of brand 😬
@Jcornillon2 жыл бұрын
Ok - this might be the very best setup I've ever viewed on KZbin. This woman is amazing, has thought out everything to her life style - I could not be more amazed. Great interview in that you let her do the talking. If I dare, this interview gets the A+. You are a credit and asset to Bob's vision !!😃

Constructive criticism, no hate: acknowledging every sentence that the interviewee says is distracting and hard to listen to. Great job otherwise!
@CindyCaVANas2 жыл бұрын
agree
@barbaraallen30542 жыл бұрын
This is what active listening is. It is very much part of interviewing people. Bob does the same thing.
@erigerontriteleia2 жыл бұрын
@@barbaraallen3054 True but in this interview scenario, less of reaffirming/acknowledging what’s been said by the interviewee would not become a distraction and more smooth-flowing interview. Otherwise, Brian has done a great job!

fair point 🤔 but i would argue that if this setup allows her to keep her high-paying city job with a similar or better quality of life than living in an $3,000/mo SF apt, you might call this "doing it on the cheap" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She upgraded from a dolphin though keep in mind. Nice to see people grow. True about SF and $3000 rent. Born and raised in the bay, still here…this would indeed be doing it on the cheap ✨

WARNING: On those huge batteries, I would VERY strongly recommend to immediately get proper insulators to securely cover the exposed metal connectors. If a metallic item comes in contact with them you can very easily and instantly have a fire or explosion disaster. Those are high amperage batteries and can be quite dangerous if not protected!!

Good for you, choosing to do a bit of delegating, Bob. Brian Gifford is a great choice! I was remembering decades ago when word got out at my job that some of the job was going to be done remotely through the internet. I mused to co-workers at lunch that, if this were the case, I could travel in my van and do the same work we did, on the road! Everyone looked at me as though I had three heads. I'm retired, now, but watch these digital nomad videos and feel so vindicated! ☺️

Wow, fully electric. Now that is cool. I sure would like to find out what 2.5 gallon water heater she is using. I found one that runs at 1440 watts. That safety timer switch is a great idea too. She did a terrific job. I think that it's really attractive and obviously everything is handy. My son in law works from his garage so he too has a background that's creatively deceptive maybe - you'd never know that on the other side are a gazillion totes with holiday stuff and the things young families store seasonally, but in the middle is his gym with weights and a padded floor and loads of cool stuff. I think people who can manage to get so many uses out of a small space are really creative. You don't need your business contacts focusing on your stuff instead of the topic at hand. And to put her pups comfort ahead of guests? Awesome.

I really liked all of Keri's recommendations of what to do and what not to do. I love that it's fully electric. she has her furbabies with her, that she is prepared for a fully remote job and electrical/cooking lifestyle. I would've never thought about the scratches around the vehicle. I have so many on my 06 Rav4 that I literally just roll with it. It's really well thought out!

Great interview Brian, thank you! I really admire how Keri put so much thought into this build. Plenty of solar, battery power, large inverter, wifi is taken care of, etc etc. Very well thought out. @sarahloy8302 жыл бұрын
I have a C-head and it is fine for me but I do have to sit much more forward, then I would on a flush toilet, to get good separation. I especially like that the pee container is just a standard milk/water jug. If it starts to smell after a while when I am just rinsing it out between uses, i just throw it out and put in a new one. Or if I am not in a place where it is easy to empty, it is cheap to have a few spares.

upon my retirement I am planning on living the nomad lifestyle however have a major problem I am 6'8" tall, 270 lbs.....I have researched alomost all options and head room is a problem with all vehicle type platform forms, so far the only two options I have found is a cargo trailer with 7' ceiling the drawback is these are generally larger trailers & currently limited to 5k tow capacity, the other option I have found is someting like an A-liner but very limited with storage, refrigeration capacity & the amount of solar. Any ideas I have not considered?
