If you're looking for some gorgeous YELLOW plants & flowers to add to your garden, this list is for you. The selection of yellow flowering plants or plants with yellow foliage that I have selected is for multiple growing zones, and varying light conditions.
My name is Nicole Roggeman, and I am a gardener in zone 8B in coastal North Carolina. Gardening is my passion, and I like to try new combinations of plants together. Having a colorful garden is something I love. Since My Carolina Garden is in Wilmington NC, we have hot, humid summers, and have sandy soil here. These are all things I keep in mind throughout the growing season. If you like my video content, please subscribe, and stick with me as my gardens grow!

Thanks Nicole for the tour of yellow plants & flowers. I love yellow flowers ,they go with so much & pop from a distance. I also love lantana & plant it every year as it isn’t a perennial for me but it’s a must have. Thanks again 😊

Thank you so much Nicole. I've never thought to divide some of my plants , now that you've mentioned it I'm so excited to divide some. Please show a video on dividing the lemon Coral sedum and a few others. That would be so cool. 🌿🌻🌿

That sounds like a plan! The lemon coral sedum in particular is VERY easy to divide. It seems it just wants to spread everywhere 😁 Thanks for this message! 💛

I wouldn’t say yellow is a favorite in my landscape (as flowers), but I do love the more shrub and ground cover with the yellow tones! I think it is a gorgeous way to break up some of the ‘green’, especially love variegated leaves. As always, this video was very informative and I see at least 3 things I would love to add to my garden. Thanks!

I completely understand. There was a time I had waay too many black eyed susans that I was put off by yellow. But, as my garden evolves, I now see it as pops of sunshine 🌻💛 Have a great week!

Just lovely yellow plants! I have the evening primrose and it grows everywhere in my zone 6a/6b ( yes I am on the border) 😂. I bought moonbeam this year and love the paleness of the yellow flowers it produces 💛🌼💛

Great list. That sunshine ligustrum is a real work horse. Takes heat yellow all year (shade is a problem turns back green). Two more for you to take a look at. First is Acuba, it’s a very cold hardy plant evergreen to zero F I think. Plus lovely spots of yellow in the darker green leaves. Very hard to kill it. Second is sloppy painter Croton. Has lemon yelllow only splotches like paint splattered on green leaves which are longer and thinner than traditional croton leaves. I have both of these plants & love them

Thank you for your unique suggestions! These are great because now that I'm post-vacation, I'm looking to add a few new babies into the garden that I can look after. 😁

I love yellow flowers and I have the following in pots alstroemerias, African daisies, dahlias, Ice plants, daylilies, lilies, alpines and in the flowerbeds I have coneflowers, rudbeckias, coreopsis, achillea, calendula, montbretia and goldenrod. I would like to grow more yellow flowers but the flowerbeds are full and I have fifty eight pots of flowers which is way to many and my wife has warned me not to buy anymore pots. My wife has no interest in gardening and tells me the front garden looks like a mini garden centre.

You have quite a selection!! 💛 I'm sure it has its challenges not having your wife as a gardener as well, but what can you do. Gardening is in our souls!

@@mycarolinagarden We bought our house thirty years ago and I had no interest in gardening. One day my wife asked me to dig out a flowerbed at the front of the house and I said do I have to and she said you do. So I dug out the flowerbed and thought to myself that's me off the hook but oh no she wanted me to help her plant the flowers which I did. Then she told me I would be looking after the flowerbed and handed me a gardening book. I managed not to kill any flowers that first summer and off I went digging and digging and planting and planting. Then I started using containers when I could not dig anymore and developed a liking to terracotta and glazed containers for flowers. I made lots of gardening mistakes over the years but you learn as you go along and now that we are retired I can enjoy the garden with plenty of time to do the things to keep it looking beautiful.
