But the important thing is that he doesn't stop trying. Even watching him fighting repeatedly to gain and keep his balance, especially in front of his father, is a deep message to his father. I would imagine that his father is entertained by and proud of his baby boy.

They would never survive in the wild. Most were born in captivity and they were saved from poachers. Remember Gorillas in the Midst? Jane Goodall is still alive.

A larger enclosure would be great, and some large trees for adventure, play and exercise. But gorillas are primarily ground based animals. Even in the wild they only climb trees 5-20% of the time, and the large males very rarely. I do think they need more mental stimulation in that enclosure. I hope there are larger, more natural areas they get to use at the zoo for most of their time, and they're only kept where we see them for a few hours each day.

@@MrVvulf Only 5-20% of the time makes sense. Now that I think of it, I've never seen a gorilla in a tree. Then again I don't watch a ton of gorilla videos. I think mental stimulation is more important to their health than trees. Looking after babies certainly gives them some of that.

I think the enclosure is partially isolated sound wise from the public watching them. This is being recorded through the enclosure glass I think so you can hear the crowd well, but not the gorillas.

@@roslyndecanio81 ...gorrillas are not safe in their natural habitat is the problem tho do you have any idea how endangered and hunted these creatures are? there's only 3000 eastern gorilla's left in the world, and as much as people are trying to keep all of them protected (eastern and western gorilla), poachers dont care, like at all, they are paid not to care as sad as it might seem, these guys are in the safest place in the world right now, yeah they could use with more playground space and stimulation but im guessing they are living pretty okay given they not only look healthy, but happy

No predators, nutritious diet, medical care etc. And most importantly, people that would otherwise never see a gorilla get to view one. It helps them understand that they share the earth with others and should adjust their behavior accordingly.

Kintaro as a baby was so cute. At 3:57, he looks up at his father and Momotaro touches him gently. I took a screenshot of it. At the present day, Genki still cares for Kintaro as if he were little. He’s a lucky gorilla boy.

Yes and it was also sad for African American slaves too right ? Who were treated way worse , forced to work, given food even a Gorilla wouldn’t eat! And it went on for 400 years… no one ever sad “sad existence for them” no one cared! someone should have to pay for that right? Something that serious can not go unnoticed & unpunished! The psychological effects are still present today… the best part is these Gorillas aren’t being whipped and chained 😇

Most zoos no longer capture animals from the wild(I’m saying most because I’m not sure if all zoos are like that) They are living the good life they can eat when ever they want in a safe environment they can sleep when ever without worrying about predators, they have medical care

Our friends are showing more and more of human behavior or else we are just now noticing because we watch them closer. Out in the wild they don’t have it as easy as in a zoo so. They can’t devote much time on more than eating. Now I think that the dad’s are kicking in with childcare more and it really is amazing to watch. I really give the moms credit too because they carry their babies close to them all the time while they re little. They kiss them and pat them just as we do. Before we know it they might just start talking.😊😊❤❤❤
