Momotaro is not nearly as intimidating or frightening as Shabani, but Gentaro is such a sensitive, sweet natured, Blackback that it doesn't take much for his Dad to scare him. It is sad because they used to be close, and Kintaro used to follow Papa Momotaro around and wrestle with him. I am not sure what changed here. Shabani at least seems to look repentant when he intimidates his son, Kiyomasa.

For as much as I would hate to see Gentaro leave his family, I can't bare to think how horrible it must be for him to live in constant fear of his father, while living in such tight quarters. He needs to be in his own place, where he could be free and not oppressed. imho
