Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)　
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.

Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)　　　
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

Ich liebe Genti sehr genau wie ganze Familie aber ich finde Genti brauch kein Baby mehr Sie hat zwei wunderbare Söhne und hat schon vieles weniger schönes in ihrem Leben erlebt.Deshalb finde ich das sie ein schönes ruhiges Leben haben soll Außerdem ist es klar das es keine Gorrila Frauen für die Gorilla Jungs gibt .Und ich habe große Angst das dann so geht wie bei Lope und seinem Bruder Shufai Lope wurde in Frankreich in einer Männer Gruppe und Shufai wurde kastriert. Mein größte Angst ist das Kintaro kastiert wird und wenn noch ein Baby kommt ein Junge ist wo soll er hin wenn Erwachsen ist. Also ich hoffe das sowas nicht passiert. Den ich liebe die Momotaro Familie sehr.

The female in Japan he is referring to that gave birth at 40 is Momo’s own mother Momoko. Sumomo is his newest baby sister which was hand raised for a few months because Momoko became sick for awhile. But she is now with the troop and had been thriving for over a year. Genki is is wonderful mother so if it is gods will for her to have a baby it will happen.

They can’t genki is kinda batshit. The reason she is missing fingers and toes is because she self mutilated. The previous silverback troupe she was with started favoring some of the other females and she couldn’t handle it and chewed her own fingers off. There can’t be another female because she’s such a hot mess and can’t handle being around other females.

I am pleased that the zoo is making Genki’s health a priority. For a while there I wanted another baby too but that was selfish. She has had 2 beautiful boys and I think she has done her part in contributing to her species. She is an older lady and deserves to enjoy some peace and quiet- without an infant. Besides she still has the cutie pie Kintaro who pesters her regularly! Although I think it’s kind of their “play “… Genki is a sweetheart . 基本線は、元から同じだったと思います。自然妊娠が基本。 これまでと少しニュアンスが違うなと感じたのは、ファンに期待させるような発言が無かったことです。ゲンキの健康が最優先です、あくまで自然妊娠ですと。これまでは、もう1頭は産んでくれると嬉しいですね～とか仰ってましたがそういう発言はありませんでした。 ゲンキは母性が強く育児が好きでしょうから、自然妊娠においては何も問題ないと思います。

Genki has given the world two beautiful male gorillas in Gentaro and Kintaro. I say let her retire and eat her favorite foods to her heart's content. Nene did not have missing digits and dental caries. Actually poor girl only has one tooth now. Up until now I had always thought Nene was one of the healthiest elder gorillas other than that nagging hip pain. When she was 40 she was sprite. And they have more space to run and get exercise. All things considered. Shabani and Nene was such a love match despite their age and up until 2 years ago were still mating. They are quite a pair. I wish Nene well. The Japanese zoo is not transparent about her condition. Mobility in the gorilla world is important. I am not going to presume her outcome and wish for the best.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Genki. I think it is unfair for Genki to have a baby now. Look at Momotaro's mother after giving birth to Sumono. She was too ill to look after her properly. There was also another gorilla in another zoo abroad who died not long after giving birth to a baby boy. Luckily, his female relative took him on.

Thank you GL. Genki's health and well being comes first and I am glad the Kyoto Zoo is so mindful of her health. Genki has the most beautiful eyes. She is looking so healthy now and I would like her to continue a healthy quality of life. Momoka is 40 now and she had complications partly due to her age. I work with human moms that deliver and there are more complications with moms over 35 years age. I dont know what 38 years in human life is but Genki is high risk for complications. And with her dental caries and missing digits. Ahh. Pregnancy would complicate her health issues. I know alot of people would love to see Genki with another baby. As I consider all the health factors, I have put aside my wish for her to have another baby in lieu of Genkis quality of life. She is my favorite gorilla and I love her so much. Soulful eyes. 💚

Genki's 'aging life' should as a requirement, be safe and enjoyable. If pregnant she would be a geriatric mother and with her other health issues could make her final years very difficult. Genki is a wonderful gorilla and has produced two sons, one of whom she still cares for to some extent. I hope the zoo will do nothing to encourage a pregnancy. If she becomes pregnant naturally, that will be unfortunate and for her sake, I hope that doesn't happen. ❤Genki❤

The Zoo Keeper is completely right.... 38 is old for a human female to give birth & we have much easier lives compared to theirs... Genki has had a difficult time lately, with her health & with 2 growing son's both at such different stages in their own lives & a mate who is really only just reaching maturity now.. add to that the lack of space and the fact that another baby may well mean our beloved Gentaro is forced to leave his family to make way for the new comer would make that little family highly stressed & devastated, that would be unfair on a new baby Also, if Genki suddenly becomes "on heat" the fighting will start between all 3 males🤦🏼‍♀️ both Gentaro and Kintaro were extremely interested in what was going on last time & that put Momotaro off & made him angry & aggressive 🤷🏼‍♀️ No let Genki have a rest from babies and let her build up her strength and have a longer, healthier & ultimately happier life, she's such a character really but as a mother she stays in the background, calm's everyone down, gets pushed around etc, etc... she deserves some peace and quiet 😂😂 ❤❤❤❤

True - Momoko was 40 when she had Sumomo and then, as you know, she suffered badly from anemia. Nene was also 40 when she gave birth to Kiyomasa. Toto has no offspring.

It is right & important to consider Genki's health for providing another baby and navigating through another pregnancy at her senior age. It is also very important to consider Genki's ability to care for her infant after its birth-- producing enough milk to feed the infant, long hours of supervising the baby to keep it safe, teaching it how to survive & be a part of the troop over the course of several years.

Meus dois amores Kintaro e Genki, a linda Genki precisa de tratamento odontológico, que causa muito sofrimento, além dos que ela já teve no passado, Genki é o pilar da família, ela merece ser bem alimentada, ser mimada, ter um lugar macio, limpo, com uma temperatura ideal para dormir. Ela é uma mãe extraordinária, te dois lindos filhos, não suporto a ideia de ver Genki sofrer, quero que ela esteja confortável, embora o espaço não ajude, mas espero que realmente o Zoo esteja priorizando a saúde de Genki, ela merece qualidade de vida, acho surreal quando tem comentarios pedindo uma outra fêmea para Momotaro, sem noção, se não tem fêmeas para Gentaro, Kyomassa, que são prioridades, vão arrumar para Momotaro? Fala sério! Por alguns anos Genki vai ter a companhia do filho Kintaro, meu lindo, mas ele vai dentro de alguna anos virar rapaz e vai acontecer o mesmo que Gentaro, vai ter sua própria família, mas enquanto isso não acontece, Genki está perto do seu filho mais novo e orgulhosa do filho mais velho que cresceu e está um rapaz. Why don't they fix her cavities? They say they are putting Genki's health first. It seems to me that would be a very important part of her health. A natural pregnancy would be the best scenario.

So complicated on the treatments It is possible to remove all cavities but at the same time she won't be able to have fun time eating something with her tooth.

I also wonder why she can’t be tranquillized, then removed for a comprehensive tooth cavity repair session. Dental fillings have become sophisticated among humans and the filling compounds more permanent. Surely it would be better than continuously giving her antibiotics, unless the anaesthesia would pose a significant health risk? (and I realize there would be a large ¥ cost factor.)
