as a (sort of) artist myself there’s a good chance he drew this as practice, feet can be pretty difficult to draw. I draw hands and feet often in my spare time to sharpen my skills

well I mean that is his wife, that's the body proportion that he'll be looking at and subconsciously referencing for most of his life. It's pretty common for male artists to have their spouse/ partner as their muse. what would you prefer? Noodle to be morbidly obese? Besides, Noodle is supposed to be a 32 year old Japanese woman. That's pretty much the body proportion of most Japanese women in their early 30s.
