I had the exact reaction to Sound Check (Gravity) when the beat dropped

My fav thing about this album is how urban and homemade it feels. People imagine different scenarios and things listening to it (like videogames, cartoons, and else) but honestly I think about almost all the songs as very weird "street" music. Demon Days kinda has this vibes too but that album feels much more upbeat, studio made and pop even, as if you were chilling with friends, while Debut album just gives this lonely, bizarre and sometimes unsettling vibes to most of its music. I think this album has the strongest urban feeling out of all the others that came next, while at the same time being one of the most experimental ones.

This album gives me a nostalgic feeling of the early 2000s cartoons and video game (despite them being actual cartoons) and I love going back to this album from time to time. My favorite track is Tomorrow Comes Today and agreed with you on this being the sound of the album. Also agree on M1A1 should be the opening track of the album, I even make it the opening of my Gorillaz playlist bc M1A1 just let's you know how Gorillaz sound and what type of music they make. Love your reaction and can't wait for more Gorillaz reactions

Trying to get 1-2 vids out a week, gonna rotate through different artists! You got any other artist recommendations?

I used to think that gorillaz was from power puff girls

Gorrillaz was my childhood. I think this and demon days have been their best works though. Have a listen to Massive Attack or Portishead if you want something else a little out there and different but in a sinilar vein. Massive attack: unfinished sympathy, angle, teardrop Portishead: glorybox

"went back and found out all of their previous albums were way better than humans-" Bro lmao, I had the exact opposite experience, I waited years for a new drop, Saturnz Barz was admittedly pretty fire, then I sat down, listened to all of Humanz and was like... "Aww, man?". Like, Humanz objectively wasn't absolute garbage or anything I guess, there's some good... Ideas, but it truly, does not hold water for me. And The Fall is my favorite Gorillaz album so you know I'm not the most subjective but man it was like putting your keys into an old car and it DOES start, it DOES run, but the moment a cop SMELLS you, your ass is in jail.

@@pptemplar5840 I kinda feel the same. I know it’s not ass (objectively) but just wasn’t the same quality I found with their previous albums. I’m gonna make videos on all the albums (working on Demon Days now) and will talk more in depth about my feelings on each one. I’m like you tho, absolutely love The Fall (wouldn’t say it’s my favorite album tho :p)

Being into music theory kinda pisses me off sometimes cuz 5/4, being named after it's time signature, isn't really 5/4. There's sections in 4/4 which normally I find really cool, switching time signatures is fun but for some reason the fact the song is named after being in 5/4 makes me dislike the change into 4/4, like, why is it called 5/4 when it's PRIMARILY 4/4.... (people constantly mention how the drums are 4/4 making the whole thing 4/4, but that's not how it works, it's polymetric, I'm talking about the "She turned my dad onnnnnnnn-" parts) Otherwise it's a vibe

Also the reason Del didn't appear on anything until Cracker Island was because Del fell off stage while performing Clint Eastwood and fucked himself up, but he's good now.
