@@SanguineMalcontent I mean yeah they're alright, but there's only one song on that album most people remember. Does that make the rest bad? No not in the least, it just makes them as good as the stuff they usually do. They're really good, just not as fantastically memorable as Clint Eastwood or Feel Good Inc. are. People act like Gorillaz is going under quality wise, when their song quality is just as good as it's always been, which to me I think is still above average.

Cracker Island fired the shot, New Gold propelled it forward like a railgun. Baby Queen guided it out of the barrel. But this? Oh man... this is the beautiful explosion that comes with it all. This is a very strange metaphor, but man... this song is amazing...

Gorillaz haven't quite hit Plastic Beach levels for me since that record came out, but this is certainly heading in the right direction. I will always maintain that Damon is at his best when he isn't collaborating with anybody.
@MrsBlaileen1 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. He is so powerful and raw on his own, that the collaborations kind of dilute him a lot. It just got to be too much on “Humanz”, IMO. You never rob your frontman of his power. And I agree that Plastic Beach is a masterpiece. The collabs didn’t overwhelm him there.
@MrToddino Жыл бұрын
Agreed, Plastic Beach was the perfect balance of Gorillaz's style, he still collaborated but maintained his style, unlike some other albums (Humanz)

This song talks about how 2D fell around his fans Some feel bad for him, including me. It’s that he is just letting his fans know his feelings and it just makes me tear up for sum reason. Ok but we don’t deserve such good characters, I LOVE 2D AND I ALWAYS WILL

Lyrics below. [Verse 1: 2-D] To the pool at least try to let it go But nobody knows what they're fooling with here There will be time and there will be a sign When all the kids who have cancelled time Will take my hands and pull me up again Cheer me up and help me walk again (walk again) To the pool at least try to let it go But nobody knows what they're fooling with here I got bones, and I got jaded legs Not the type that can win a race Living plastic on a vacant lot Left behind and staring at a robot [Chorus: 2-D] Don't be sad for me I'm a cartoon G And my intent is to breathe in a new world Don't be sad for me [Verse 2: 2-D] I can balance on the highest tree You can only see outlines of me I can disappear, or lighten your day In this tainted stage I'm a skinny little ape [Chorus: 2-D] Don't be sad for me (I'm a skinny little ape) I'm a cartoon G (I'm a cartoon G) And my intent is to breathe in a new world Don't be sad for me [Instrumental Bridge] [Chorus: 2-D] Don't be sad for me (Where is Hell? Thinking 'bout it [?]) I'm a cartoon G ([?], [staring at street?]) And my intent is to breathe in a new world Don't be sad for me [Bridge: 2-D] I'm a skinny little, skinny little, skinny little, skinny little ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape I'm a skinny little, skinny little, skinny little, skinny little ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape I'm a skinny little, skinny little, skinny little, skinny little ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape I'm a skinny little, skinny little, skinny little, skinny little ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape ape I'm a skinny little, skinny little, skinny little, skinny little ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape I'm a skinny little, skinny little, skinny little, skinny little ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape I'm a skinny little, skinny little, skinny little, skinny little ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape I'm a skinny little, skinny little, skinny little, skinny little ape Ape ape ape ape ape ape ape [Outro: 2-D] (But nobody knows what they're fooling with) Don't be sad for me

Heard this song for the first time back in October at the Toronto concert (my first ever concert) with my brother. This song means so much to me, as they somehow managed to capture what it feels like to think about all the love and support my closest friends and family have given me while helping me through depression. The beginning of the song feels like when I'm in a depressive pit, but the end feels like when I look back on all the great memories I have with those people, and the gratitude I have for them. This song instantly became special to me, and I will always think about the love I hold for my supporters, especially my brother, as he's always been my best and closest friend, and I'm so happy that we share the memory of going to see Gorillaz for the first time
