I just realized the movie is one huge metaphor for the music industry. You have these talented people (aliens) signing these contracts (brainwashing) being controlled by the music industry (Earl de Darkwood) and then just cast aside when they fulfilled their purpose (jumping into lava after getting the manager the record). The main characters can kinda be seen as Daft Punk themselves. As the duo made sure that the music genre was the helping them, not the other way around.
@dartagnanbutler60084 жыл бұрын
Basically, they sighn the contract and the band can be consumed by the fame and can change. But this is mainly about the managers being in a parasitic symbiosis with the band? The manager starts to be mutualistic with the band at first but then changes they deem fit are requested of the band but they refuse but have no choice due to the contract and if they dont follow the details then they never work in the setting they are in?

If somebody is wondering about the meaning of the title, well here is the answer: "Veridis quo" is a bit of clever wordplay on the Latin phrase "Quo vadis?", literally, "Whither goest thou?" or "Where are you going?". The greater meaning of the phrase is, "To what purpose?" or, "To what end are you doing this?" This is directly from Wikia, however I felt it should be stated somewhere in the comment section.

Hand drawn anime was a lot better than the current stuff
@EskCan446 жыл бұрын
I agree. These older physically drawn animations are starting to become a lost art with the advent of computer animation software. Modern animation still might be drawn by hand, but it is not drawn or colored on a physical medium such as paper. It really makes you appreciate how every single frame of old-school animations were painstakingly drawn and colored with little to no technological assistance.
@idoltrash23536 жыл бұрын
While I partly agree with what you're saying I wouldn't say it's as an absolute like that. there are cases of awful painted cell anime as well as there are amazing modern shows that use techniques only made possible by digital colouring. Creating anime is still a painstaking process even with technology and when you look at the ultra fine attention to colour from studios such as Kyoto animation, Shaft and Ghibli this becomes apparent. So yeah i understand enjoying the aesthetic of painted cells, case in point being Gundam wing, but in many cases computers make new things possible, they don't necessarily make jobs easier.
