Fair play for getting out on a beautiful if not windy day , things always seem dire at this time of year along this stretch and I always struggle to make a decision , I usually wait for settled water And try for a flounder at west worthing but numbers have been low in recent years and not always worth the effort to dig a few harbour rag or search out whites , 🤷🏻♂️ roll on May and thanks again for sharing

Yeah I know what you mean, I start getting stressed out if I don't fish, Its not even about catching fish I think it's more the me time and enjoying the elements. Heene road area used to do well for flounders years ago. Couldn't find the motivation to go digging after a few weeks ago it was a right struggle to find anything. Hopefully the plaice will start turning up soon. Thanks for watching 👍

It's called end of winter mate, it's the same every year and has been every since I started fishing 38 years ago lol, winter species buggering off, summer species yet to come in, that crappy time we either go to look at the scenery/practice casting/test out rigs and gear, or just stay at home in the warm and watch diabolical shit on telly. Had a good day today, got comfortable with a new rod/ reel combo, tested out a clipped up running ledger rig I made (want to have a castable 6ft leader for when the smutts come in). Use this time of year to get out, learn stuff, prep and streamline so the fruitful times are made the most of.

@@geoffsaunderson5766 thats the way to do it. Plus when you catch a better specie in the winter months it gets you excited for the summer months. Just wish we had a nice cod run around here over the winter, but hopefully with all the changes getting put in place it may happen in the next few years

Good session, shame about the blank but good to get out there!

had a few sessions this year, so far just dogs and whiting, had a crack for a conger with no result and then went to a mark west anglesey for a ray or huss but the conditions were too dangerous to be on the rocks so had to come home.

Did the right thing a fish is not worth yours or someone's life👍. Just gotta keep trying and I'm sure we will find those biggins one day. Thanks for watching 👍

Thanks for sharing, I been out last saturday, similar conditions, only had 1 rattle on the rod, no fish. This is how it goes with fishing. Look forward to your next episode. Tight lines.

Yeah it's not the best at this time of year but it's still good to get out. Thanks for watching 👍

You can make a blank day interesting well done. What kind of prat cuts the head of a dogfish? It may be considered a nuisance fish but it could also save a blank!

Yeah there's no need to do it, just goes to show what type of people we have out there. Thanks for watching 👍

Could have lowered the stand and droped the rod tips down a bit would have helped with the bite detection a bit as the tips would not have been so high up in the wind

True but the other problem is the swell with the weed. Those beaches suffer really bad with weed around there but luckily today wasn't to bad. Thanks for watching 👍

Thanks fella, love your videos. You should join the HDSA and come out with us, all for fun and some boat fishing in the summer.

Maybe about 10 years ago pre kids I might be up for it but unfortunately these days I don't get as spare time now. I'd love to go out on the boats but unfortunately I get mega sea sick, tried every remedy going and nothing works 😢🤣

Dead mate, peir is just as bad, bonus I had some 3 bearded rockling today which was good for nostalgia, whiting tiny, usual suspects out for a conger
@Fishingbug5 жыл бұрын
Yeah thought that would be the case with these tides. Bet it was a case of finding the last few spots out of the wind today on the pier. Another month or so the gars should start showing 😉😁

@@Fishingbug yeah the mighty gar! We get the odd big one too, had a 2,5lb off Shoreham arm a few years back believe or not, like a snake lol. Never had one from the beach, really want to try a fly under a bubble float this year, see how that goes.
