I'm definitely a believer I've seen a few lights in the sky whilst fishing which I can't explain. But after a few people commenting I think these turned out the starlink satellites as I purposely stayed up one night when they were flying over and my sighting was pretty similar. Hopefully one day I'll get some good footage on camera👍

Nice one thanks Luke! Not seen any Mackerel down here until 2 weeks ago, when we were out on the shingle and big shoals were appearing every 20mins or so, chasing a 1ft wide carpet of baitfish up on the shore. I love them to eat so had 6 decent ones on a lure rod for the pan & put the tiddlers back. Wish I'd tried for more, as the Wife gave half of them away when I got home! Stay safe & well! 👍👍
@Fishingbug3 жыл бұрын
Great fun on the lure rod, I feel that you tend to get bigger ones on a single lure instead of feathers. My other did the same, half ended up going to the neighbour. The rest i ended up making a mackerel and chickpea curry which went down a treat 👍
@kerryfoster13 жыл бұрын
Think they're probably gone now. The wind has coloured the water, I have caught them in November off the beach if the conditions are there. This year was amazing - but a fluke I reckon. Don't expect it every year (or any year) having fished for 50+ years I've seen the shoals decimated!
@kerryfoster13 жыл бұрын
The gulls on my beach had probably never seen mackerel before. Even the whitebait were still left on the beach the next day. They now raid your garden for anything put out as their natural food is scarce!
@Fishingbug3 жыл бұрын
Very true I think during covid when the bins were empty and no fast shops open the gulls didn't have a clue what to do. Still all these mackerel are a great sight to see and hopefully means all the other species will be up in their numbers to.

Put mackerel back gently, they should be OK. I have had no problems, don't be leave the bit about touching them.Thanks
@Fishingbug3 жыл бұрын
I've always been under the assumption that the human hand can almost give the mackerel burns to their skin and they very rarely recover from it. Mind you I wouldn't know how they would test the theory properly but it would be interesting to see some proof. Thanks for watching 👍

Great fun catching mackerel on lure, they scrap so well for their size. It's been a funny year this year for fishing for me, I've struggled to finding any bass.
