ゴリラの赤ちゃんキンタロウは12月19日に１歳の誕生日を迎えました。しかし、ここまで来るのには、お乳の出が悪かったり、弟の誕生により最愛のママを独り占めできなくなったゲンタロウの存在など、育児にたくさんの難問がありました。それをひとつづつ飼育員さんや獣医さんの努力で解決してきています。そして何より辛抱強くキンタロウを守ってきたゲンキママのあり方に、私は胸を打たれます。この動画の中にはキンタロウが栄養が足りていないのではと思うほど細く弱弱しい時期も実感できると思います。これは生後４か月から６ケ月の頃のキンタロウが収録されています。
Gorilla's baby Kintaro celebrated his first birthday on December 19. However, there were many difficulties in childcare, such as the poor milking of mom and the presence of Gentaro, who could no longer monopolize his beloved mom due to the birth of his brother. It has been solved one by one by the breeders and veterinarians. And above all, I am impressed that Genki Mama patiently protected her baby. Thank you zookeepers for saving Kintaro from starvation...looking at this old video after 2 years, poor baby is nothing but a skeleton with skin. Genki may be a good mother, her breast milk is no good. Only way zookeepers could feed Kintaro is if Genki was hand fed fruit so the keepers could get close to the baby...the zookeepers saved his life. I can't thank Kyoto zoo enough. THANK ❤️YOU!!!

明けましておめでとうございます。動物たちはお正月休みでしょうか？、一年間、貴重な映像を提供してくださり、ありがとうございます。これからも素晴らしいゴリラファミリーの映像を見せてくださいね。キンタロウ君が４ヶ月頃、明らかに母乳不足に見え、正直このままでは危ないと思いました、でもそれは私より飼育員さんたちが何よりも感じていることだと思いました。ゲンキお母さんのキンタロウ君を見つめる愛情深い様子に無事に成長してほしいと願いました。小さくて弱々しいとゲンキお母さんも感じていたのでしょうか、過保護な時期もありましたね。この映像を通してゴリラの母親の愛情の深さ、家族の形を見ることができましたし、幸せな様子を見せてくれることが動物園のありかたのひとつとも思いました。ゲンタロウ君の一歳の時と比べたら小さいからだのキンタロウ君ですが、活発さはゲンタロウ君を抜いていますね。このまま、すくすくと成長してほしい、みんなの願いです。今年の寒い冬をモモタロウファミリーと乗り越えて行きましょう、そして、映像を楽しみにしていますので、今年も頑張ってください。

Aww I'm just looking back on old video,s of kintaro when he was young mum was thinking to her self The keepers took my Gentaro away from me they are not going to take my second child kintaro that is why kintaro was so thin because mum wouldn't let the zoo keepers any were near kintaro but gradually she let the keepers feed kintaro because he became worrying thin but too look at him now bless him he's done really well and that boils down to the mum Genki and the keepers deadication to get kintaro strong and back to health and for me all there hard work from mum and the keepers it's paid of because look at Kintaro now a job well done in my book kintaro my darling u made it through the rough times

No creo que la presencia de Gentaro haya sido un problema en las dificultades de crecimiento de Kintaro. Genii hangs on to Kintaro like he was a piece of gold. By now he should be standing on the ground learning to build up his leg muscles but that’s not going to happen. Gentaro tries his best to get his hands on the baby but that’s a no no to Genki. She will keep Kintaro in her arms until he is 9 months old and she finally lets him stand and crawl around as long as he doesn’t get to far away from her. When Kintaro is about 7 months old she will let Gentaro touch the baby and Kintaro plays with Gentaro by grabbing his feet or his hands but that’s about all. Genki is a good mom but very protective of Kintaro but won’t let him get down on the ground. Poor baby has a lot to learn when he finally gets put on the ground but he learns fast. He is a smart little fella and I just love him to death.
