Now we know why Momotaro goes crazy whenever he sees the work crews pass by his enclosure. Because it's a reminder of the noisy men with the hard hats ⛑️ that transferred him to his new home and stressed him out with the loud talking, banging and lack of respect when they transferred him. They created a great deal of anxiety for him. I hope their procedures have gotten better through the years.

Good point. I wonder if they could have tranquilized or given some calming dosage.
@teriw5611 ай бұрын
Yes,at least they could have been less vocal, they all didn’t need to be talking at the same time. Humans can be so self important.
Yeah I thought the same thing. I've watched abt 20 vids with this animal. He doesnt respond as the other 3 do? I dont like zoo's & I dont like the enclosure they have them in....Seems cruel all the screaming kids & announcements & bells going off.............So much for the jungle filled with trees & birds etc.........

You have said exactly what i was about to write about on the kyoto City Zoo page. This video was so insane and disrespectful to the gorilla. I didn't like it, not one bit.😢
I really have the upmost respect for the Zookeeper's and the way they approach the whole situation. Momo was clearly scared and pissed off, but they handled it brilliantly. The man with the gun hid it behind his back , as I think to not display any sort of threat or extra anxiety for the beloved silverback. They all also stayed mostly out of the windows view, which maybe was to also let Momo assimilate and not have dear or angst against the Human helpers. What a Fantastic Video! Too all of the workers at the Kyoto City Zoo, thank you for your precise yet gentle work transporting the Big Boy! I have so much appreciation and respect for the work and care you put into your very important jobs!💕🦍🌏💕
Well this video is saying this was an anniversary for momot.It's 11 years ago today he came to the kyoto zoo.The transfer seems to have gone smoothly,but momot was stressed out,understandable,but his male keeper talked to him to calm him down,that was good.Thank you for showing how momot came to the zoo.
The amount of effort and coordination that goes into caring for just one animal is staggering, and a testament to the love the keepers have for the animals to ensure they're made as comfortable as possible even in stressful periods of transition. Momotaro's story is incredibly inspiring.

It was good to see Gentaro’s human foster father giving Momotaro a drink and talking to him. I was looking for Miss Hina and then remembered that this all happened 11 years ago, she was probably still at school then. Momotaro has never forgiven the men in white hats. 🙋♀️🦍🇬🇧

Fascinating. Looks like Momo’s transfer went smoothly. poor fellow though. Very scary for him. He let out a roar when he first came out of cage. I think this is where his white hard hat “enemy” association started. Gentaro’s human dad was there to climb in the truck and comfort momo in his cage before transferring to indoor enclosure. Ugh. Gentaro has to go through this soon. Dread the day. Hate to think how scared he’ll be. Hate to think of them having moments of unhappiness 🦍♥️

It actually took me a while to figure out what all the banging and noise was, it was Momotaro, ive never seen him truly mad and aggressive, he is such a chilled, laid back dude now that i didnt immediately realise what was going on. While i understand the reasons for moving Momotaro, he most certainly deserved the chance to be "THE" silverback and have a family of his own its still distressing to see him so distressed. I am glad he stayed in Country, to have to have added a long flight and even more driving time whilst in that cage could have had some lasting affects on Momotaro, but to look at him now 12yrs on, a life partner, 2 healthy and happy sons and keepers who truly love them makes this trip he had to go through bearable. Momotaro family ❤ 2023

Each word you wrote is true. But I feel so with that poor helpless soul. And yes, the zoo IS bad, and sadly, Japan does not care for animals wellbeing. But the staff really loves them, and does for them whatever they can make possible!
Wow! I have a lump in my throat watching how Momotaro was transported to this very caring zoo! All steps were precision coordinated to prevent any undue discomfort trip for Momotaro. Sure Momotaro is frightened but how does anyone explain to an animal, even one as strong as Momotaro what is happening and even why. Incredible work by the transport team! Thank you for sharing.

Are you kidding? Poor Momotaro. That was awfully stressful to watch. I can only imagine how scared and confused he must have been. Those zookeepers should have been a lot more organized and remained quiet instead of all that yelling and banging going on. It probably would have been a lot less traumatic for him. I think that these beautiful creatures should be kept out in the wild, NOT in some cramped, concrete, and steel enclosure!!
@LSI933 жыл бұрын
@@BACKROADSANDBONFIRES I totally agree with you but at the same time captivity is a reality unfortunately. But still they should never see concrete or steel and also m have minimum human contact . Please provide a lot MORE FOOD for these gorillas ... don't feed them like humans ... they are immensely powerful animals capable of breaking a human head with just a slap to the face !!!

If you use a computer and put the cursor at 09:32, and continually replay the like, two seconds after that, you can see what Momotaro thought of the whole thing! Lol! But yeah, I sure wish there was a way humans and gorillas could communicate somewhat though... For the times when they are transferring between zoos. This was amazing and exciting to watch and I can see why it would call for a lot of staff around to assist with the smooth transition. I do however, think that it may have helped if everyone was more quiet. It was distracting for me just listening through the video I can only imagine how agitated it made Momotaro who was in a small cage after a ride and not knowing what’s happening and who was around him. I hope 11 years later the staff considers keeping the talking to a minimum and only those who need to give instruction. It might help them to at least not be afraid from all the noise on top of everything else that has to take place.
