Gornja Banja Hotspring | Jelasnica Climbing | SERBIA VANLIFE

In today’s video we enjoy more Vanlife in Serbia by relaxing at the beautiful thermal hot spring of Gornja Banja in the little canyon town of Lukovo. We absolutely loved this place, it was free, humble and full of friendly locals who all thought we were mad in our bathers. We also explore the mountain village of Kopoanki, home to some of Serbias most popular skiing slopes (when the season starts) and then we bring you guys along on some climbing in the area of Jelasnica. We only wish we had more time to explore this beautiful country in our home on wheels, it has been an absolute pleasure overlanding through Serbia on our way out of Europe towards Turkey.
⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. So after waiting for six months for the borders to reopen in Ireland we have finally hit the road in June 2021 and spent 90 days enjoying vanlife in Spain. Then we spent the next two months enjoying vanlife in Croatia before heading onto Serbia where we currently are 

Before living Serbia you should visit Stara planina on border with Bulgaria...Now i see that you are nature lovers, not city lovers...So you would love it...Also if you are in Nish you should consider few hours trip to unesco roman city Felix Romuliana...And little city Pirot on the way to Bulgaria...Just before border

Yeah hot springs feel so good! We get nervous ordering local food as we are vegan and don't want to make things awkward for anyone cooking for us. We will have to learn some vegan friendly traditional Serbian dishes to order next time we come back ❤️

@@phillyandkeely guys u should try SARMA ,that is cabbage roll , here ppl usually use meat with rice but u shoud ask for one without meat there is that option , also there are many dishes for vegans here dont worry

That pool in the little building is called “King Milutin’s Bath”. King Milutin (13th-14th century) had a summer castle nearby and would come to that bath to soak and rejuvenate with his wife. Of course, it’s renovated, but they’ve tried to preserve it as much as possible as it was in the Middle Ages. Those towns that are formed around hot springs called banja (baa-nya) are usually where people go to recover from an illness or surgery, and each hot spring has different properties beneficial for different problems, for example Bukovačka Banja is good for the cardiovascular system, Lukovska Banja is good for rheumatism and non-infectious skin diseases, Sokobanja is good for neurological diseases and respiratory diseases, etc. 🙂

I've been to plenty of hot springs in California and Serbia is one of the places I really want to visit. In California it's almost exclusively nudity at Hot Springs.
