Gorr didn't just kill gods of war or death. He killed gods of food, wine, knowledge, peace, kindness. Basically he didn't just purge the wicked gods, he slaughtered the ones who actively cared about the mortals that worshipped them but weren't strong enough to help them as much as they wanted.

Fun fact for the ones who dont know Knull isnt just some random dark god,he is an aspect of Oblivion. Thor also was the one who first damaged Knull.

Yeah I dont think we will have three versions of thor. Instead we'll likely have Jane foster thor, Thor and Beta Ray bill working together to defeat him. I dont think they will kill him permanently either though. I guess we will see

Yep I feel the same way. They gonna just make him a normal villain without even giving him his true weapon and just be some "fancy sword" with the same name not truly what it actually is. Gotta make it all fit movie lore over true lore. They've done it before, so wouldn't be shocking if they do it all again.

That's kind of his entire shtick. It goes back to Norse mythology, where he created a weapon from the only material that could wound the invulnerable god Baldr - which he gave to his brother who currently had fun hurling things at Baldr, while he was showing off. Baldr's "accidental" death then inadvertently set Ragnarök in motion.
