Ben, speaking from experience, don't plant bamboo ANYWHERE. It spreads like crazy and lives in all seasons. It will literally spread throughout your whole ranch if you let it. At the place I used to live in, it looked kind a cool in the back yard, but it added a whole extra chore to deal with when it began to spread.
