The sternum strap is a red herring for me, I find that the Goruck bags fit so well that the sternum strap is superfluous. I’ve owned both bags, the Goruck is much simpler to use. Nice review.

I use a GoRuck Rucker for hiking and it's really good, It will outlast my ability to use it, and the MOLLE webbing has allowed me to add on things as I needed to. Also easy to use a carabiner to hook my gps to one of the MOLLE webs on the carry straps. You never mentioned, but it has a slit to allow the hose from my water bladder to come out. Also multiple handles. And cleaning is easy - just hose it off. No experience with the other brand, but I would always take a GoRuck if given an option.

That’s right, I totally forgot about the water pass through. Such a great pack!

I EDC a GR2 26L. It's great, but i would rather a "slick" version of it. I ilke the look of that TAD, but 450 a little to high for me.

The slick versions look pretty cool. I’ll have to check one out.

They were designed for very different uses and made out of completely different material. Comparing these two packs is like comparing a BMW SUV to a Ford Pickup.
