As an avid user of x-pac (Phoenix 2 capsule, several Alpaka, Aer) is the Ultra *really* that much better? Seems like something I’ll upgrade to eventually, but no need right now. Do you agree?

Danny, how does one buy this bag (the VX 21 version) when you have the AON Whitley for half the price (200 vs 450), in VX 42, and almost the same layout. Maybe even a better layout on the Whitley with the 2 zippered pockets on the inside flap of the main compartment. Am I missing something ?

Thank you for watching and it’s a fair question! The Whitley is a an excellent alternative and for many will likely be a better fit. A lot of the price difference I believe comes down to the fact that this one is sewn in the US which typically brings the cost up and then if people like the layout more or prefer the harness with the load lifters and some of the other functional differences it may make it worth the additional cost

Agree. This was a return for me. I like organization and admin panels, but it was so unusable for my use case.

The bag wouldnt fit my 16 inch lg gram laptop. Own the vx version and like it a lot. Its crinkly but didn't bother me. Loved all the pockets. It meant i knew exactly where my thjngs were and could access them very easily and quickly rather than rummaging around or having to have eveything in pouches which would take more.time. Clearly depends on one's packing philosophy and how fhe user interacts with the backpack for whatever their use case is. No getting around the pricing, its v expensive and tons of other great bags out there. Personally like it a lot but wont be for everyone. Graphene-x limitless backpack is a skightly larger 25l bag which shares similar layout and more affordable. Albeit a tiuch heavy and arguably a touch over engineered but i think a grsat underated backpack.
