Awesome vid! I had the 34L GR2 from November 2017 to August 2020 and it was the first ruck I ever owned from GORUCK. I originally used it for my EDC and primarily as a gym bag to hold my squat shoes, weight belt, knee sleeves, wrist straps, protein etc., and it was excellent for longer than a weekend travel. When I travelled Australia for almost two years from June 2018 to March 2020, it was my EDC until I got a 21L GR1. For getting to Australia, I had the GR2 fully packed with 20L and 10L packing cubes as well as two GR2 Field Pockets and placed it inside the GR3. Tbh, this was also the first ruck I ever sold as it became too big for my EDC needs now so I decided to keep my GR3 and opt for a 26L GR1 and a 10L Bullet. As GORUCK says, the Special Forces curse clearly states that the more space you have, the more stuff you’ll pack. Cheers!

Good stuff Lance! Yes, that sponge theory always applies! That’s what I love about the GORUCK line. There’s a perfect combo of bags for just about any situation

I just got the GR2 26l. I can say it is one of the best EDC back pack I have ever own. Works for me since I got to school and work, carries all what I need for just a day. Anything larger the 26l, I feel like it's more for 2 day travel.
@JBOutside12 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! The bigger sizes are too big for EDC unless you pack a ton. Did you get 500D?

Great review. I’ve got the GR1 26, GR2 34 and the kit bag. Main uses gym/work/weekend. My challenge is deciding which bag is best for which situation. Bag dilemmas 🤣

I'm getting my GR2 34L today! I got a trip coming up I n a couple weeks and excited to get some usage then. I thought the 40L would be too big for me so I'm just going to try this one out but I'm thinking it's the perfect travel bag for me. I did 2 weeks with a 26L GR1 and just needed a little more space.
@JBOutside12 жыл бұрын
Good choice. The GR2s are a strange bunch for me. I really like the 26L, the 40L is often too complicated at bigger pack-outs. The 34L seems to fit the "useful" niche for extended packing when the GR1s are not enough. I have a 34L vs 40L planned for maybe next week to compare packing.

How do your vids not have more likes is beyond me. Well done. New subscriber. Love your ruck rack in the back. Would like to see a video of that whole thing. Looks pretty basic but something I've been wanting to do in our garage to get my packs organized. Thanks again.

Thanks Diron, tell your friends! 😜 But just getting started and lots planned. The wall is simple wood from Home Depot and some hooks. Easy to build. I AM planning a wall walk through to show off the collection soon though. Thanks for subscribing!

Ended up going with the 40l. 16oz boxing gloves, wraps, plus a weekends worth of clothes packs better into it than the 34l imo.

Nice work, JB. Much appreciated. Have you ever used these kydex sheets as a replacement sheet for more stability? Wondering if it’s even worth the change..
@JBOutside12 жыл бұрын
Liam, I’ve not swapped out frame sheets. I like the thickness of the stick frame sheet. But I know it’s been done.

I've cut kydex sheets for GR2 and while it was kind of pain to get the new one in, it was worth it for a stiffer sheet.

Do you think the 4.0 33L long range is great for travel also?
@JBOutside12 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! It’s a great option to cover both rucking and travel. Some people use the plate pocket to hold their laptop.

Hi As hand carried on plane would it fit the overhead compartment and or underneath seat packed full? Is it legal by size dimensions and weight? Thanks
@JBOutside1 Жыл бұрын
Overhead, yes. Under seat? Doubtful but it depends on how full and the seat.

I have tried so many packs.. realized Its not the packs shoulder straps but my shoulders that need conditioning. Maybe something you can make a video about.

Another great video…that’s a 401k worth of bags on the wall! Ahaha What is your take on the GR1 21L vs the GR2 26L for a carry on backpack with camera gear. I think he 21L might be a bit small for a full Dslr
@JBOutside12 жыл бұрын
If you haven't seen mine "26L vs 26L" video take a look at that, it might help answer that question. I really don't think it matters too much either way. Both will handle the DLSR. It mostly depends on what you carry the DLSR in, or how you protect it inside the bag. The main compartment on the GR2s is essentially the same depth as the compartment in the GR1s. It will probably come down to what ELSE you're carrying along with the camera. Oh, and yeah, those aren't actual bags, its a painted backdrop...

Why would a large rucking pack not have a waist belt? I cant get my head around this.
@JBOutside1 Жыл бұрын
This is one of those things I rarely use on this as a travel bag. But the design is built off a rucking design that is more shoulder focused than hip weight bearing. That said, they make hip belts that attach and if I plan to carry it a long distance or all day I’ll use the belt.

@@JBOutside1 I could always try other carabiners, but the size is what I'm concerned with and would rather not waste time and resources buying and returning carabiners. Thank you.
