I was apprehensive about the rip stop but it is so much more substantial than I thought it would be. If I had to guess based on my experience with 500d and even 1000d, with this pattern I expect the overall life to be longer on the rip stop. Definitely easier to repair or damage and fix later without it getting out of hand. I say this as someone who briefly reclassed to a parachute rigger in the army working with tons of different fabrics. Just my two cents.

Also, plain cordura can have a tendency to accept more and catch more thorns and pointy objects vs fabric like this where a lot of the glancing blows from pointy bits WILL get stuck in the air-jet textured part of cordura and create a tear that needs to immediately be fixed versus rip stop that can continue for a while before spreading damage.

The left side pocket is intended as a water bottle pocket that's why it has the stretch fabric.

There ya go! Thanks for the help.

Would this work well for rucking? If so how would you do it? Would a plate in the laptop compartment work or would that be uncomfortable?

Plate in laptop compartment would work.

Hi, do you think it would be suitable for motor bikers ?

Sure. Don’t see why not.

I want to give goruck my money, but god do they SUCK at keeping decent inventory in. I want a woodland camo kit bag and a woodland camo GR2 34L or 40L SO badly, but all they offer is the dumb heritage canvas stuff. I’d also love a 500D GR2 but they apparently don’t make those anymore. I’ve loved goruck for ages but I’m forced to find a new bag company to buy from instead

Yeah. Just part of the nature of the beast. I get it.

Well you dodged a bullet. I've had many dudes who bought the canvas woodland have shoulder straps blow out, side seams fail, and for them to have zippers that weren't sewn correctly out of box. Less than Chinese quality control for $600+ shipped. A joke.

still can’t believe they switched to a worse material 😭

Not a fan of ripstop?

It's not bad imho and has the scars warranty, so I'm good. 🇺🇸
@doorbox788 Жыл бұрын
@@Artilectual yeah but when (hopefully never) they go out of business you can’t rely on them to fix your bag. That’s not a selling point or something to count on imo, just a nice little bonus
@doorbox788 Жыл бұрын
@@Rucking i actually don’t mind it! I have the gym bag and it’s quite decent, just clearly not as durable as the cordura if you ask me
@FactFinderGeneral11 ай бұрын
@@doorbox788Even if they don't go out of business they may very well discontinue scars. And many of the repairs I've seen come out of scars lately have been terrible. Scars is not worth the premium plus shipping costs. I'd rather have a cheaper bag and take it to a local tailor or seamstress that will do a better job. A warranty should never be a main selling point or justification of price, because if they build your stuff right you should never need it. GoRuck has been cheapening quality and materials a lot lately, yet keeping the bonkers pricing. The latest woodland heritage run was plagued by issues which is unacceptable (busted seems and poorly sewn zippers).
