This says a lot about their character. At that point, they had no powers and were up against one of the three Gourma generals while their mentor was in a life and death duel with the Big Bad of the series, but they still defended the only advantage their mentor had even though they knew they'd get their asses kicked. They really didn't care if they won or lost their fight, just that they could buy enough time for their mentor to win his fight. True heroes.

UGO I think sentai from late showa era to beginning of heisei era (198x -2000, gaoranger) are better or much better than late heisei era (201x) in terms of story development and action. I dont know if it is just me because of early childhood memories. Latest sentai are focusing on upgrade forms, armor, and toy merchandising.
