I take a look at the Goshawk OP-5 Romance alcohol stove that may also be used as a twig stove.
Boil test: 16oz 51 degree water no lid: 8:30
16oz 50 degree water with a lid: 7:35.
Stove Kit: 4.8oz/135g
Burner 2.4oz/68g
Burner safely hold 2oz/60ml alcohol

👍👍👍 .. brass, that's a new one. Yes, it does, at a glance, resemble a SVEA 123. As with my current Trangia Burner, I would fill it with Glass / Ceramic Wool topped with a roll of Carbon Cloth. This decreases enormously, the risk of a 'knockover' without appreciably negatively affecting burn performance. One would imagine, in the Australian Eucalyptus-rich Outback, this would have some relevance. A good share .. thanks. Take care ..

Best thing I have found is a copper vessel to boil water. The soot isn't a problem because it seems to be repelled once it get blackened. It's like anodised. You just give it a light wipe and its clean enough to put in the back pack. But wait there's more. The water boils 25 % quicker

I've never seen camping size copper pots but I'll have to look for one and give it a try.

Cool little stove! I like the fact that in an emergency you can burn twigs. May I make a request? Although I do hope it doesn't happen for a very long time, could I be named as benefactor in your will for your awesome stove collection? 😂 Seriously though, keep up the great work with your videos

Sorry I can't give up my stoves, they are part of my kids only inheritance. I told the kids they will need to get an eBay account and sell all of my stuff off. 🙂

Hello planetside maybe the pot holders adjustment is for the diameter of the pot.

Will it fit inside the Stanley cook pot? ATB Sam Adler from Vietnam
@planetsideagent

No, its just a little too big. The Stanley works great with the Hobo stove. I built a cook kit around them and use the round tin alcohol burner. I'm going to do a video on it, not sure when.

Ao they make a fantastic , stable platform , on the BOTTOM .....that you cant use . Then give you three , flimsy , weak , peices of bent wire to hold up your pot .

I found the pot stand quiet sturdy on par with a Seva 123. Of course the stove wasn't intended for use with large pots or cast iron skillets. Did you have a failure with your stove?

@@planetsideagent I did , they accepted the return . I went back to my 1930's sterno folding stove . You could put a 5qt pot on that thing . Not that anybody would lol . Its hard to beat . Made of steel , looks like an old school gas stovetop cutout on top . Very stable platform , never had any tips , or slide offs .

To bad it didn't work out for you. Those old sternos are solid. Speaking of large pots I saw a photo from a old climbing expedition and at their camp kitchen they had what looked like a 5gallon pot balanced on 4 s200 Bleulet canister stoves. (The stove I used for years.)

Cool stove. If it thicker and stable and can simmer. Hope not made in China too . 😂
@planetsideagent

As stable as can be for a 3.5inch diameter. I wouldn't use a cast iron frying pan. 😀 The burner does have a simmer ring like a Trangia burner. The company is Australian but I don't know where they are manufactured. Probably China, most things are. Like the car dilemma, "do i buy the US car made in Mexico or the Japanese car made in Alabama"

Luckily I'm retired. 🙂 I know my video skills need work and I should put in more perp time and write out a script. I'm not trying to make money at this it's only a hobby. I have several (probably all of them) videos that need a rework, I'll take a look at this one and see if I can improve it. Thanks for the feedback,
