Beautiful chords, thank you for sharing. However,I was confused at first, then realized you inadvertently referenced your example as being in the key of "C#" instead of key of "Db". The 7th of Db is "C", the 3rd is "F", the 6th is Bb.

@@DevoidMoon what's the difference?
@musicianspracticelive6 жыл бұрын
Daniel Adeyemo there is no difference, besides the technical name for it. If it was in the key of C# the 7th would be B#. Which is also C.

You should use the sound from your MOX, because it’ll be so much better, just record the audio. There is a built in interface.

I was teaching a guitar student about 7 years ago. I used to quiz the student on the circle of fifths. I just think of it as going up in fourths. I noticed when I wrote it out. C F Bb Eb Ab Db Gb B E A D G C F Bb ..etc. There was a pattern..this pattern is what I call the BEAD system. A student can learn the pattern in 10 seconds. BEADGCF now gut a b on each one Bb Eb Ab Db Gb Cb. Your back to B. What made me think of this is that this directly follows the circle of fifths. Of course they are not strictly the.diatonic 7ths. If I had that knowledge 40 years ago I would have be much further ahead.

@PIANOSTYLE100 can you throw more light on this? because I'm a beginner
@PIANOSTYLE1004 жыл бұрын
I assume you are learning piano. The BEAD SYSTEM is just what I call it. Say you wanted to play a song in C. Most jazz songs follow a circle of 5ths for the base note. If we are doing a 2 5 1 progression. In C that would be Dmin7 to G7 to C. So I'll write the bead progression out again and you'll see it BEA(DGC).. 2 5 1.. Now here is where it actually comes from. B C# D# E F# G# A B C# D E F# G A B C# D E F# G A B C..etc.. it works in sharps and flats also. I did several videos on this. Here I am just doing the first four notes and continuing that. Note that this the circle of fiths. I have written it out in four note patterns..if you notice it is also a circle of fourths. Let's say we start on C and go up to F..that's up a fourth. If we think of C as a five..we notice that the F is the one. If I am playing in F the five chord is always the C7 dominant. How we get that is this F G A Bb C. It a five. I'm texting this I think I did a video on this I may get a quick one out today.

When you do the walk down that second chord in the right hand is not an F chord.It is the second inversion of the Dflat9 chord. F in the bass with Aflat, Dflat, Eflat and Aflat in the right hand.

@JPlaysKeys7 жыл бұрын
MAC! I tried to switch to PC and it's just not the same. I'm sure some people have successfully used PC, but MAC is compatible with all the software I use and has native programs for screen recording, video editing, etc.
@GetYaWeigtUp7 жыл бұрын
I don't have a clue of how to use a MAC that's why I ask. I want to get my sounds going in a few months and trying to learn what all I need to make that happen. I hear that MKS Sensation from GM.com is really good. When playing live, what do you use to layer the sounds and control which one of each you want to use?
@JPlaysKeys6 жыл бұрын
GetYaWeigtUp playing live, honestly I rarely use a controller. I love the regular grand piano sound or sometimes a "bright" piano sound for uptempo songs. But I've used the MacBook to run MKSensation a little bit. Its cool, and i see it work for lots of musicians. Just not my first preference
