Gospel Piano Tips: Secret to Learning All 12 Keys
Many view learning all 12 keys on the piano as a daunting task, but with the right approach, it can be achieved within a year. Mastery, however, requires ongoing repetition and time.
The recommended method is to focus on one key each month, practicing specific isolated chord progressions not tied to any particular song, which aids in fundamental skill development.
In addition to practicing progressions, select a new monthly song that fits the studied key. This helps in understanding diverse musical styles and chord variations.
It's crucial to avoid the common mistake of learning one song and transposing it into all keys. This approach can hinder your progress and limit your musical repertoire. Instead, aim to learn a different song for each key to enhance learning and musical variety.
Progress systematically through the keys using a logical sequence, such as the cycle of fourths or fifths, or chromatically. After one year, this method reduces the intimidation of playing in all keys and significantly improves overall piano skills.

@@kierenmoore3236 there are 12 major keys and 12 minor keys total in 24. However we focus on the 12 major keys first before even thinking about minor keys. Once you know how to play is all 12 major keys, you’re already 50% of the way to playing comfortably in minors as there are ally of overlaps.
