I agree. In Matthew 24-25, Jesus is speaking privately to his followers, to warn them what to expect during the Last Days before his return -- world disasters,chaos, false teaching, Christian persecution--so they won't be afraid but to stand firm in their faith, wait patiently and be ready to make an account of their time while waitng for our Lord. These are words of encouragement to stay anchored in Christ. There will be no excuse before our Lord returns, Matt 24:14, for gospel will have been preached throughout the world as Jesus commanded us to do in Matt 28:16-20.

The "last days" in the Bible were the last days of the Old Covenantal world of Israel. The last days were fulfilled in 70 AD when the temple was destroyed. The second coming was spiritual in nature, "on the clouds of heaven", and fulfilled in 70 AD.

I think it's the Parable of the rich man and lazarus. There was a part when he said that if it takes to learn a new language for millions of years then it's okay since we'll have another million years in eternity anyways. I hope that helps.

If copeland, Joel, meyers, or any millionaires, were to ask Jesus, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? Jesus would answer and say: go, and sell everything you have, and give it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven, and come, follow me... Loving your neighbor with action, is loving God... not loving your neighbor with action, is not loving your neighbor... Peter had no money to give to the poor, but he had the gift of God to give to the poor... The true ministers of God are not rebuking the rich ministers with sound doctrine

Carson, always talking about his son hungry...lol. Best sermon illustration of all time! In all seriousness, this preaching needs to be passed down to churches and pastors as I'm starting to hear some heresies coming around recently that stems from a misinterpretation of the parables of the talents.

Didn't address the WORKS in this parable being tied to salvation. I was told that if someone accepted Jesus Christ on their deathbed then they will receive salvation. Can someone address this.
@TheGodWalk2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven, I think that the point of this parable is that Christ will separate his obedient followers from pretenders and unbelievers when He returns. The real evidence of our belief is the way we act, because there are many professing Christians who have no genuine faith. What we do for others really demonstrates whether we have put our trust in Jesus and repented of our sin. No, works don’t save us. We can never be good enough to meet God’s perfect standard. We are saved by Grace alone, not works so that no one can boast (Eph 2:8-9). That’s why the thief who trusted in Jesus as Lord on the cross was saved- a true deathbed conversion. But James, Jesus’s brother makes it clear that true faith is manifested in works. Faith is useless and dead unless accompanied by actions (James 2:14-24). If we have no deeds, it means our faith is not genuine. (Matt 12:50) You ask a very relevant question and I find that reading the raw Scripture is the best way to understand the tension between faith and works. They are not binary but operate together. Works are the fruit of genuine faith in Christ. The pretenders and hypocrites are those who say one thing, but their actions say something completely different. I think these are the “goats.” The thief on the cross was a “sheep” because he genuinely trusted Christ. Hope this helps!

We need to have works to be saved, but it's not our works that get us saved if that makes sense. Like we are saved through faith, by grace, but a true and genuine faith will always produce fruit (works) as Jesus says throughout the gospel. It's not the works themselves that save us, but the works are evidence that our faith is genuine, so if we lack them our faith counts for nothing.

@@mytestimonytojesuschrist Now what if someone grows up their whole life never knowing of Christ, but feels a sense of goodness in their heart that leads them to feeding the hungry, visiting the sick, clothing the naked, and doing good for the love of mankind.

@@TheGodWalk Salvation by grace alone through faith alone in jesus alone Rewards by good works. We can't say genuine faith can see from how people leave. Some people (believer) are struggling in sin, they know they don't want to sin but they are struggling

Would those brothers and sisters include those belong to Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox Greek Orthodox coptic Ethiopian orthodox Anglican Lutheran Presbyterian Methodist nondenominational groups Anabaptist groups Baptist. Many do not embrace each other as brother and sister because of party line. I know many churches serve churches in other countries that belong to their denomination but how many times have we heard of persecution of a group that did not belong to our denomination. Do we assist. Let’s say you are Baptist or presbyterian in a Methodist Church or an Anglican or a Lutheran congregation has some tragic event happened do you step outside your denomination and serve? This is why I don’t like the splits and denominational divide. It’s like….. I follow Luther, I follow Calvin I follow Wesley and on and on it goes. Today everybody has their favorite Bible teacher. The Lord is good and He does give us wisdom and direction in the way we should go. Praying for all in church leadership and ministries to lead and teach the flock under your care.
