For Montage you can use samplerobot software to make complex multi sampled patches (.X7U format) with only a few clicks. You can stack as many vst/external synth sounds as you like with as much velocity layers as you need and let samplerobot do the rest for you while you drink some coffee. It`s just amazing. The only lack of this software is that it does not support release-samples (yet).

When you install the software, it installs all of the plugins automatically. You load into Logic, like you would load any other plugin.
