Aaaaah OMG Buffy is the cutest cutie ever!!! Just looking at SMG's face and that adorable nose just gets me, but I just love how Buffy can be such a badass queen and also such a relatable trainwreck awkward dork too. She is just the most complex and brilliant character ever, and you definitely showed why she is so endearing! This was hilarious! "magic weed" lololol couldn't just say sage. I think that the thing people don't understand about the appeal of Spuffy is that when you're a capable woman in a patriarchal society you still need a male ally in order to achieve your goals. The introduction of Dawn created the need for the change in the Buffy-Spike relationship. It's only a woman who cares about others who needs an ally, and BTVS reflects that reality in that Spike, though knight rather than lord, was the best option she had for an ally after Riley's betrayal. I'm ignoring a lot of things I like about their dynamic, but this is the one thing that I think modern feminism misses--men are expendable only when women are narcissists.
