One of my all-time fave records by the Blackwood Brothers. With the incomparable Jackie Marshall at the keys. Plus… Wally Varner playing on "For My Good Fortune." This is the LP where they changed over.

They changed over in 1959. Jackie was with them from late 49 to early 59. The first album Wally Varner was featured on was 1959 “Give The World A Smile”, recorded in RCA Studios and raised on Skylite. This album was a compilation album released on RCA’s budget label. That’s why it features earlier recordings made by the quartet in the early 50s featuring R.W. Blackwood, Bill Lyles and Jack Marshall on piano.

Steve, I believe some of these songs feature R.W. and Bill Lyles as well. " Angels Watches Over Me" sounds like Dan Husky on tenor and Hilton Griswold on piano.

This is an RCA Camdem release. It will have songs that are from other albums and on singles that might not have been on albums.
