This was a really good real world test of the Gosun Fusion at higher altitude

This is an amazing way to cook a winter stew. Drop in 3 liters or so of water, some meat (ideally seared first) and veg and let it roll.

I don't think the Fusion is meant to boil water at all, though?- in order to boil water the Sport has a "kettle" that goes into it that's much smaller than the tube itself (and still takes an hour to boil even in optimal conditions), and though the Go can boil water in the tube itself the Go is also the smallest and the proportions are different. I'd love to see GoSun make an insert to boil water in the Fusion, though.

A gallon is quite a lot of water. If that tube was full of food it would cook because food has much less water in it. Sometimes I use a vacuum flask to cook in. Bring your food to a running simmer and put it into a flask to 'cook' after about two hours the food is cooked.

Yes it will cook food very well even in cold weather and at high altitude. I just wanted to test water heating capabilities.

Water boils at 212°, it's a shame you didn't have your temp probe to see how hot it got up to. If this thing will get over 212 it would be an amazing survival tool.

Try it with a single walled bottle next time keep the rest of the condition the same.
