I have that Cordoba in Baritone strung strung in Low G - one octave lower . . . gives it lots of character

Thanks Baz for review. Sounds and looks lovely for the money. It seems that some manufacturers have great ukes that are solid top with laminate back and sides. Cordoba have joined that club for me. Probably wouldn’t even consider them before without seeing this review. Have a great weekend.

Thanks for the review. It compares with my own experience, I have the Tenor version, purchased 2 years ago as a beginner. I love the spalted maple on yours, mine is nice but not as dramatic as yours! But it appeals to my taste. I also love the satin finish, it feels very smooth, so nice to hold. The tenor has a wider nut than the concert, which suits my fingers. The sound felt good at the time, sustain and volume seemed good compared to others of a similar price. Hence overall it made me want to keep picking it up as a beginner.

Thanks Baz. I admit I’d always dismissed Cordoba as a brand. I also can’t help comparing a spruce top concert to the aNueNue UC10, which is a really high bar. But the review has still made me consider Cordoba again, which is helpful, so thanks again.

Yep - fair point - those UC10's are a bit of a standout on good value. But plenty of solid toppers around this price too. That Snail i compared it to is £60 more!

A Córdoba CM-15 was indeed the very first ukulele i bought. That is exactly 13 years ago. Ev’rything has changed drastically ever since. The sides on this particular instrument are cool.

I know the model - back in the day they were a solid alternative the the limited usual suspects. But I don't think they really developed and kept up since then leaving me feeling a bit flat about them. Saying that, I love this one!

I have a few Cordobas. They are decent solid instruments. Like most of my ukes, I immediately change them to Worth Browns. I have a strong dislike for those Aquila strings. They can make a nice uke sound plasticky and plinky. Though I do have one Cordoba with Aquilas set with a low G. I figured good enough for now. Some songs require a low G and everybody should have one uke tuned to low G. (Ever try to play “Sound of Silence” with a high G?) 😬

It seems to be a fairly ok uke, even though spalted is not my favorite. A bit expensive too. 190 pounds? One pound is 14 kronor in Sweden...definitly too expensive.. Thanks for a good review! Take care ❤

Nah - think the price is bang on compared to alternatives. The Snail version is £60 more expensive

Sorry - have a policy of never recommending strings - not to be unhelpful, it's just a totally subjective thing. I've seen people argue about the same string set - one saying they are bright, one saying warm - yet they are both right (we all hear and play differently). My advice is just to buy a few sets and trust your own ears as to what you like
