Thanks for the sample. I can see where this type of instrument would add different flavors of sound to a band and the sound is adjustable via electronics, that said I'll stick to the traditional Ukuleles for now... Much more mellow. Good news. I added a bench vise to my office/shop so delicate things like taking down bridge saddles and rounding and shaping sharp head nut edges will be easier.

I play the ukulele, and just bought a M4 or seagull Merlin dulcimer by Godin so this is like two in one ( both my uke and seagull Merlin dulcimer.) very interesting.

If you plug this into a chorus some reverb or delay I know with mine it sounds amazing you can even put distortion use a slide and it will really surprise you

Great review thanks, I bought a #GodinUke steel, I'm selling mine on Reverb as I prefer a Tenor size but this is perfect plugged in with the band, now discontinued by Godin but the Nylon is still made. Another amazing innovation from Mr. #Godin while Gibson is still stuck in 1959 #ukesteel

lovely 3-dimensional curvature and solid tone woods but, no surprise, not highly resonant. The 'thin' body gives it away. To my ear there's a strong association between the internal volume of the body, as in cubic centimetres, and the resonance of the instrument (compare the sound of a full size dreadnought guitar with a travel guitar - or travel ukulele).

I guess. They are a guitar maker. I don’t normally like guitar brands making ukes but I get this one. Kind of a deliberate half way house crossed with a mandolin. Kind of it’s own thing and not a guitar maker trying to make a uke built like a guitar

Gonna be honest and say that this ukulele is not to my liking at all. Looks are somewhat ok, but the sound/tone... not so much. Still, variations and differences are great to have as options when selecting an instrument... so for that I am most happy.

No, it's a soprano. Scale length is 13.8 inches. Whilst that is longer than many sopranos, it's nearer to regular soprano scale (13 inches) than it is to regular concert scale (15 inches)

Yeah I deliberately ensure they are out of tune before every video... quite tiresome after nearly 200... or perhaps its intonation issues from setup.

This is one of those ukes, that yeah...maybe I want it...but I would rather get a Kanelia or an Islander first. It is doesn't make me quickly open my wallet and get one. I just don't like ukes that are electric guitar wanna-bees. Sort of like what Fender does to their uke headstocks.

Doesn't bother me so much - they are just instruments - they either work as instruments or they dont is the way I look at oddities. If it's odd for the sake of it but fails as an instrument - agreed - waste of time. This doesnt fail as an instrument though

Agreed. I just have a different vision of the sound a uke. I picture a warm island sound. Not something that the late great Randy Rhoads would shred too. Excellent review though. It is nice to see new brands and styles. I would have never bought a Flight uke if it wasn't for one of your reviews. Did cost me some money though to get it shipped to the U.S. :)
