@@TheEtherny I'd argue that there was a point for the character personally. She never had someone high born interested in her that way and Jaime pretty much showed her that he is interested even with the whole obsession with his sister. It was also a small hope for Jaime to show that he could love someone outside of Cersei but sadly addictions and toxic relationships aren't easy to break free from when you've lived with them for years.

Just finished this masterpiece of a series (well, a masterpiece minus the last two episodes at least). If you told me that by the end this glorious warrior woman, Ser Brienne of Tarth, would emerge as my personal GoT GOAT I'd have... Well, I'd probably just be like "I doubt it." But somehow she did it. My favorite character by far. We had many a journey, Brienne and I. When I thought all was lost and the frozen undead BASTARDS swarmed her in that overnight battle toward the end my heart sunk. I was sure it was the end for her. Thank God I was wrong.
