Got Communications Banned on Xbox for 1 year…

A devastating news that happened to me this week. Got communications banned for a whole year on xbox. I didn’t notice that until today. The ban happened yesterday even though I wasn’t on Xbox at all playing games (was on the Xbox app for a little bit to see my messages and who was on). They banned me for the dumbest reason… all because of my activity feed. Got 10 out of the 8 strikes for activity feed. All the text posts I post on my feed are about that I went live on Twitch, pretty much letting my friends and followers on Xbox know that I’m streaming. Other things I share are my game clips and screenshots, which none of them got taken down. I believe someone must’ve false reported my text posts, no clue if that’s the reason why I got communications banned for a year. I can still play Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S games online but can’t use any communication features. I also can’t play Xbox 360 games online. If I want to play Xbox 360 games online during the duration of the ban, I have to play on my backup account. I submitted an appeal about it. Hopefully it’ll be approved and my ban gets shortened

Update: The appeal for the bans have been approved! Strikes/bans have been removed from my account! I am no longer communications banned! Now I can chat on my main account again!

I used to get comms banned pretty regularly back in the day. So many times infact thst i got my brothers console baned because i was signed into it last. I had to give him my console until the ban was up😂

Everyone starts with 0 strikes. If you have strikes, the duration of the ban adds up. If you get 8 strikes, you will be communication banned for 1 year. Strikes expire in 6 months

Since the ban was lifted, I stopped posting “live on Twitch” posts on my activity feed. I post them on my stories on social media. Now, I just share my clips and screenshots on my activity feed on xbox

I don’t see anything wrong about “live on twitch” posts. I post about that on my feed because I want to let my friends/followers know that I’m streaming. I don’t see anything on their community standards rules about that we’re not allowed to post “going live on any streaming platform” on activity feed on Xbox. They should take the bans away from me so I can talk on my main account again

everyones hope is the link they give you so you can go try and appeal and hope for good news, sometimes works.. is good when it does, I think they have a system that does it automatically, and they dont check so you need to be the one to appeal then they check..

and if appeal fails, then your crewed and nothing else can be done.. annoyingly, hope this never happens to me, but had it done on other things before like youtube, thankfully some would able to get back. but one time I did a appeal and it failed then I felt like trying second time thinking fail and it didnt, i got it back and remember feeling happy and not depressed no more.

My appeal was approved on the same month that this video was uploaded. I’m not banned for a year anymore. My reason was pretty dumb on why I got banned for a year, all because of me posting “live on Twitch” text posts on my activity feed. I was just letting my friends and followers know that I went live so maybe they can stop by if they wanted to. I didn’t see any rule that we’re not allowed to post our social media usernames or anything like that on the activity feed. I’m glad that my appeal was approved or else I wouldn’t be playing xbox

True! It’s weird that I was temporarily banned all because of “live on twitch” posts. Since my appeal was approved, I’m not banned anymore. I stopped posting “live on twitch” posts on my activity feed and set my activity feed to friends only. I don’t do game chat as well. I just be in a party with my friends or alone if my friends aren’t on. I’ve seen people done way worst things such as harassment, cheating, saying inappropriate things, etc. but they don’t get banned. They get away with it

Well, I can still play Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S games online but can’t use any communication features and play Xbox 360 games online. If I want to talk to people in parties and play Xbox 360 games online, I have to use a backup account. I remember the time Xbox raided me and gifted 50 subs on twitch while I was streaming XDefiant. I removed some of my old live on twitch text posts on my activity feed but didn’t have time to remove all of them because it would take forever to remove all of them. My Xbox profile bio has some of my socials but it’s still been up for years. I didn’t see any rule on the code of conduct that we’re not allowed to self promote or anything like that

Activity feed also means ur active feed on gaming in games like getting com banned on call of duty probably rude people falsely reporting in games you’ve been playing a lot of call of duty lately and there’s a lot of sad salty people on call of duty

Everyone starts at 0 strikes. The amount of strikes you get varies on what the reason why you got comm banned. If you have 1 strike, it’s 2 days. Ban duration increases if you get more strikes before they expire. Strikes expire in 6 months
