Soul sand is a little lower than solid blocks. You sink in a little and that's how you touch the lava. 37:50 For a safe base in a nether fortress: Skeletons and wither skeletons spawn at a light level of 7 or lower (like in the old days). I guess I never kept up with the changes - if there were even changes. I vividly remember my first blaze farm and it seemed blazes spawned regardless of light level. It may just be my poor memory and I've been wrong all these years. Back then I knew everything about things and now I struggle with what things are even called, let alone the specifications and rules on things. I'll definitely look that light level thing up. And as I was editing the video I did remember about soul sane being slightly lower, just like tilled soil. I'll just keep bumbling my way through this world and have fun doing it.
