Got Mini Cooper Fan Issues???

I'm having a problem with the thing that if you look at your battery there's a thing that is next to it but above the engine. Its black and has a cap on it. But it wont stop running even when the car is off. It literally stays on til the battery dies. Need help!!! Really trying to not spend 1400

Not 100% sure but it sounds like your electric power steering pump is staying in after you shut the car off. I've never heard of that before but you could Google the symptoms with the make and model of your car and maybe find a direction to look into.

it is the resistor on your fan if you change the resistor on back of fan which is yhe high speed fan it be turned off until it is needed

Hello, my R50 Power steering cooling fan when it switches on it does not goes off...it keeps running unlikely before it goes on with the engine cooling fan comes on and goes off when the engine fan stops....any way to solve this issue..am worried if it keeps running full time it will burn out..any ideas??

I'm not really too sure to be honest, the fan systems on these Cooper's are something complicated, sorry I can't be more help.

See that this was some time ago but for anyone looking. Power steering pump fan failure is a common fault. Can sometimes appeal to mini to fund the repair as it's an expensive one but ultimately shouldn't fail. I got mine done and only had to pay £80 towards the repair

Sorry I didn't see this response till now, I cannot say that I do or that I did use the right switch and wires because I went through a few switches that couldn't handle the amperage. Right now I don't even run a fan as that little motor runs pretty cool, I just don't sit in idle too long in the heat.

Hi guys my radiator ventilater runs full power as soon as I start engine and stop a few minutes after I turn it off. It's a Mini one 2008 benzin. Thanks for help

It could be the resistor unit for the fan, mounted on the fan shroud. That would be my first guess.
