Got my First gen 1999 Toyota Tacoma Trd v6 today!!

Hey guys today I bought a Tacoma and I couldn’t be more happier with it honestly. It’s a work truck, I’ll be fixing it and really not doing to much mods. But a lot of maintenance I’ll be showing you how to do it your self and save money . It’s my first truck and I’ll be learning with you guys so so all the taco experts leave comments down below with your builds and leave some knowledge. Thanks 🤙🏽

Honestly that’s a good deal for that Tacoma. That thing only has 152k miles on the 3.4 engine, V6 and 4x4. The stuff you said that needs to be fixed are very minor. That thing will last you forever.

Yeah with this market I got it for a steal. I all ready replaced upper and lower ball joints with oem specs got oem tire size. But I’m gonna go with some pizza cutters pretty soon. Gonna swap the old suspension and rear struts. Honestly just wanna replace everything that hasn’t been replaced since 99. But yeah she’s mint I’m happy with this truck I hope it last till my son starts driving I would love for it to be his first truck.

Thanks brotha welcome to the club! I love my YODA wish I would of bought one sooner honestly. I’m in a battle between selling it or buying a newer gen for more space but I love the purple 😌. One thing I will say bro is check your upper and lower ball joints it’s really common for them to fail and it’s a easy install and will save you down the line and stick with OEM set it’s basically the same price and the quality is way better! But I’m glad your enjoy it!

About that radio, I just got a 99 Tacoma and my radio and interior lights didn’t work so I checked a fuse for the dome lights and it was popped. Changed the fuse and it worked

Did your dome light work before also? Or after when you swapped out the fuse? Cause mine works and the interior lights. I feel like my radio is dead cause the tape recorder still works.

@@thorsfishing9335 wish mine was only that lol my second cigarette liters doesn’t work either. Idk if that would have anything to do with it but from I have been reading on the forms these radios tend to die out along with the clock also. So I wouldn’t be surprised that it just doesn’t work anymore.

I just got a 99 v6 ! 230k miles! I didn’t test drove it lol just heard the 3.4 engine. And i drove 2 hours back home and ran great!! Paid $5k.

Aye congrats!!!! I had the same time drive home too enjoy her!!!! Swap out the lower ball joints and uppers don’t want them to fail! One of the first things I would do. Mines were shot out go oem little bit more but last a lot longer.

@@moparcharger8642 yes I do I haven’t had any problems yet. I swapped out all the suspension upper and lower control arms upper and lower ball joints new tires brakes tints added a light bar got some missing interior trim I was missing leds on the head lights. Still need a radio lol and a new rear bumper but besides that she’s solid I love my taco I wish I would of got one sooner honestly what color did you get? I need to do a update video! Got any plans for yours

@@subylife9714 yes do a update video! Its a white one, i got lucky because it was a great condition. Good paint, everything inside worked. I just done a tune up and valve gasket.

How many miles have you added since? 150k is baby miles on any toyota. Hope you get years out of it!

I’ve put about 30k on her and she’s running like a charm. Only problem I’ve had so far was the radiator cracked but Besides that she’s running strong. I’ve swapped out the lower and upper ball joints suspension and basic tune up. I hope I do too guys on the forms show pictures of 500k plus miles running good. It’s a great truck and for my first truck I’m glad I went with her she hasn’t let me down. Thanks brotha!!!
