Beautiful layout! Growing up we always opened our gifts on Christmas Eve!! I carried that on with my own children when they were young. My parents and sister and her kids would get together and exchange our gifts, and then our own family and Santa's gifts were opened on Christmas morning. So much fun! But I do remember the fatigue of Christmas Eve, trying to get everything done after the kids had settled in!

Really nice page and good ideas for using scraps. When the kids were home, they were able to open one gift on Christmas Eve, and everything else was opened on Christmas morning. 😊

This layout is so different from the usual style of layouts that are done & it has come together so beautifully. I think it is one of my favourites & yet when you started I couldn't see how it could come together & yet it suddenly did in all its simplicity & looks very elegant in the finished product. My g/daughter has been wrapping all her gifts over the past few days & I notice that others have also started wrapping theirs so today I will try to start wrapping mine, a job I don't like as my hands are getting clumsier these days, so I have been saving boxes to make the job easier, plus I only have a 2 foot space to work in.` It is my great g/daughter's fourth birthday today & she will be coming over to stay with daddy tonight so we will have a family party & I believe that my g/daughter is going to get Vienna to help her decorate the tree, either tonight or on the weekend when it is daddy's turn to have her. At this stage it looks like Vienna comes to daddy at midday on Christmas day so we will have lunch then & afterwards 'rape' the tree of ALL its goodies as my family love to give gifts. Last year it was our turn to have Vienna in the morning, so maybe again next year it will be a morning, who knows!! She has a mother who is always trying to change the times. My grandson is a wonderful father!! I wish he had been mine to be honest! 😀

Hello there! I’m so glad you enjoyed watching this layout come together. I hope you were able to get those gifts wrapped and enjoy your great granddaughters 4th birthday! Lots of festivities happening in your house for sure. Sounds like a lovely way to spend the holidays.

I agree it's nice to be able to use a black pen to fill in imperfect stamping spots. When the kids were still at home we did presents Christmas Eve, leaving Christmas day for Worship and visiting local family. Wishing you a blessed Christmas Erin!

My gosh I really love this. I am slowly learning to use my scraps on my pages. It can sure be tough. Love the way you did the journalling, too. Sometimes journalling right on the background can be hard to read. Our family tradition was always to open just one gift on Christmas Eve before bed. My maternal grandparents tended to not be shoppers; we would get a card with money in it, so that was the thing we opened that night.

Hello Tania, it is always so satisfying to use up your scraps. That is a fun family tradition! I can imagine my kids taking forever to decide which one to open.

I can’t believe how creative you are with scraps! So inspiring! My family is Polish, so we always celebrated on Christmas Eve. Now, with my own family, we continue to do Christmas Eve with my side of the family, and then Christmas morning is just us four, followed by a bigger celebration with my husband’s side of the family in the afternoon of the 25th. Kids love it because it’s opening presents 3x haha

I absolutely love your channel! You make everything look so easy and you have such a calm and relaxing vibe. You are truly inspirational. My family growing up opened gifts on Christmas Eve and Santa gifts were in the morning. I raised my kids with the same tradition but I don't know what happened... They both ended up switching it up with their kids, they open and have Santa gifts on Christmas day 🤷

Thank you Sherry, that is a really nice compliment! That is funny they switched things up with their own families. I always enjoyed the Christmas Eve tradition.

Loved seeing how you could create such a beautiful layout with traps! Growing up my family opened gifts on Christmas Eve. When I married, my husband liked the tradition so we continued that tradition with our children. When our son married, his wife's family also did Christmas Eve, also our son was a fire fighter so he didn't always have Christmas Eve off so we had to become very flexible when it came to getting together. That of course was more important than hanging tight to family traditions.

Hello Diana, you are right, making it work to include family is the most important factor. One year we celebrated Christmas with my sister almost a week early because that’s when she was available. Wishing you a blessed Christmas holiday!

I loved watching you talk us through your process with the scraps and seeing how it all came together - Beautiful!!!!! The journalling on that special paper is new to me; really like how it disappears, a-lot like vellum but it’s already got adhesive all over it 😮 WONDERFUL, I will be trying to find it in Australia TFS.

am more of a card maker / TN memory planner but I love getting ideas from you scrappy gals (Heba included 😃😉) - my scraps get repurposed by a Community Worker our church employs - these past three years she’s made craft kits for her families so they could be used at home - we used to have a group of crafty ladies who met monthly to make cards for seniors / shut ins but seems they have stopped being crafty as they themselves have aged into the groups the cards were for 😕 always someone somewhere who can be crafty with our scraps - thanks for your wonderful videos and all your great ideas 🙏🇨🇦
