Hello Erin, I love this layout. It so nice that you celebrate the day to day events of our live. Christmas is so much more than one day. I also wanted to thank you. I have been scrapbooking for about 15 years and discovered you KZbin channel a little over a year ago. You have truly inspired me to take my scrapbooking to a new level and given me the confidence to try things using inks and markers. I love it. I am currently making an album for my daughter of her wedding which was this past summer. I was wondering if you have ever used fabric in a scrapbook layout. I have a piece of material from her wedding dress and wanted to incorporate it into a layout of my buttoning up the back of her dress. Do you have any ideas of how I could do that or better yet videos of you using fabric in a layout? I'd greatly appreciate any ideas you may have. Thanks again, Pattie.
@CraftyConceptswithErin2 жыл бұрын
Hello Pattie, I am so glad you enjoyed the layout. The day to day events are some of my favorite photos to document. Hearing I have inspired you to try new creative things truly makes me happy. I am blessed to have the opportunity to share and it is good to know it is being helpful. Your daughter's wedding album will be extra special having been handmade by you. Adding the fabric from her dress is a fabulous idea! In my son's baby book from 18 years ago (so no video) I included his onsie the hospital dressed him in. I glued it into place with double sided tape and it is holding tight. I layered his photo partially over the fabric onsie. I treated it as if it was a layered piece of patterned paper. I do know there are lots of mixed media scrapbook artist incorporate fabric so if you search on KZbin it might pull up some ideas. You could use it to layer behind the photo buttoning up her dress. If you don't want adhesive on the fabric you could include it in a Flip Flap pocket perhaps. I have used burlap and different textures and again I treat them as if they were paper and work them into the design. Hopefully that is helpful and gets your wheels turning. I can't recall a video where I have fabric aside from a wedding layout I created with ribbon roses. I also used tissue paper to mat my photo in this same video, maybe you could substitute with the fabric. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3zHeHWgasaqrqs

@@CraftyConceptswithErin Thank you so much these are all great ideas. Using the fabric like patterned paper makes complete sense and a great place to start. Thanks again.

If you used the double-sided adhesive sheet that can be die cut you can the misti to line them up maybe?

Good idea! I love the adhesive sheets but forget about them until I’m struggling to put glue on a tiny area lol 😂

Are the big scalloped pieces part of the kit or did you punch those out from somewhere? Love the layout and that you used your handwriting 😊.TFS!
@CraftyConceptswithErin2 жыл бұрын
Hello Daisy, the big scalloped pieces are a part of the Christmas story workshop. They have them in this wood grain look as well as charcoal scalloped pieces that are all included.
@daisyniemeyer84902 жыл бұрын
@@CraftyConceptswithErin thanks so much! I thought it would be a punch or a die of some sort, wouldn’t that be fun! Thanks ☺️!

That die set is so adorable! Do you know of a channel where someone teaches in depth on using the Tri blend markers for shading/coloring?
@CraftyConceptswithErin2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! If you search coloring with triblend markers on KZbin there are a lot of video tutorials that pop up. I have watched several and there are a few different methods of color order. It’s good to get a general idea and then see what works best for you.

Love this layout Erin! What envelopes do you use for your die storage? Do you have a video that shows how you store your Thin Cuts?
@ScrapbookCowgirl2 жыл бұрын
I went back and watched your Evernote video, but I didn't hear you mention the clear envelopes.
@CraftyConceptswithErin2 жыл бұрын
Hello Cindy! I haven’t done a video deep diving into my die storage yet. One of these days I will definitely do a craft room tour. I use the 6 x 6 CTMH envelopes for the smaller dies but since we don’t have them for the larger size I get these on Amazon. amzn.to/3hQA0Zx
@ScrapbookCowgirl2 жыл бұрын
@@CraftyConceptswithErin Thank you so much! Do you use different sizes of these envelopes or just the one linked?
@cards.by.melissaminor70522 жыл бұрын
Hi Erin, I purchased the die pockets on Amazon for the larger dies. What do you store the pockets in? I know you keep your regular size stamps in a box from Lowe’s. Do you do the same for the larger ones?
@CraftyConceptswithErin2 жыл бұрын
Hello, did you get the same plastic envelopes I recommended? If so they fit in the fabric bins I get from Lowes and use to store my stamps. I stack them upright and can flip through them to find what I’m looking for. The smaller ones are stacked in the front with the taller / longer dies in the back. Hopefully that makes sense.

This looks amazing! ❤ What does “alcohol friendly ink” mean?
@CraftyConceptswithErin2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Kim! That is a great question, alcohol friendly should be used when coloring with alcohol based markers like spectrum noir tri-blends or copic markers. If you use a regular water based die ink it can bleed when you color over the stamped lines. “Alcohol friendly” inks do not bleed.
