The bit I like the most about making the lateral line is, we go fishing 2 times a month and what ever happens is what I make the video from. In big angry fish days that trip would have never been used and it would have been a failed trip 😢 no failed trips with the lateral line 😁 it is what it is and it’s always good fun trying to catch a fish 😎 thanks so very much for watching 👍

I'm a Kiwi living in Aus for the last 18 years. Loved your Coromandel stuff. My son who's now 27 was only 9 when we moved here and we were watching some Coriomandel stuff the other day. He commented on how familiar it looked to him but couldn't put his finger o it. As soon as you mentioned where you were he clicked. I'd watch Milan Katches Kahawai if you decide to film it, Nate, it's the bestest fish. Just need an ultralite spin set with 6lb mono for the days when they're the only fish around eh 😉😁

When you are tired of catching Kahawai then definitely move to shellfish/squid baits or softbaits. Most of my trevs are caught on small softbaits particularly in harbours like that my last one was off the wharf at Ohiwa.with a 5inch blue paddletail.

Another great episode boys, this Aussie muppet thoroughly enjoys your adventures. We chase winter Salmon off the west coast of Ayre Penisula in South Australia surf beaches and they are an awesome land based sport fish when the waether is too rough for the boat. We've had a few club trips(New Plymouth Surfcasting Club) to both harbours and the fishings always produced the goods. Trevs, Snapper, Kingy's, Spotty's, Kahawai. Haven't tried Floundering around in the mud though....lol. Keep those videos coming.....

Had a quiet morning over in Sydney today too! At least you got a belly full of Kahawai 😋 Winter fishing idea - have you ever tried for the mighty Parore? (aka Luderick to the Aussie fishos). Maybe not as glamorous as Kingfish, snapper, and trevally. But they are fun to catch. Get your seaweed out boi 🎣

Definitely had a belly full of Kahawai 👍 we do have the mighty Parore in NZ, have caught a couple but never really targeted them? Are they worth eating?

They are delicious! Really fresh white flesh. Good fillets or roasted whole. Best if you bleed them straight away. Once you find them there are often a lot. They have seemingly never ending energy fight all the way. Lots of fun on light tackle if you're keen for a good feed 👌
