@@RustyInventions-wz6ir thanks rusty! How’s that steam engine build going?

Put a tailstock on that and the case hardening is gonna be pretty deep in that so you may want CBN or you can probably use ceramic inserts since the shaft is a non interrupted cut.

Those shafts are usually some hard stuff. Tighten all your gibs and go slow (light cuts)… most people use a tool post grinder on stuff like that. It can be cut but machine needs to be tight N right.

@@Houseworksaws my man! I was YouTubing what bit would be best. I did get a tool post grinder for a Dremel, was 35$ lol. I actually have most of it done now except for the threads. I went through some bits on the interrupted cuts machining the t nut for the quick change tool post lol.

@@BuckYaSaws Right on bro.. Sometimes these tips can help out especially when you’re doing something for the first time. Nice clean setup btw I really like it. A year from now it’s crazy how much you’ll have learned just from doing it. I love machining parts and making them fit different models.

@ they help out big time! That was key info I needed. I’ll probably buy a copy of the machinist handbook.
