I loved seeing the live makeover! I really like the look you created ,especially the style created in the front of her style which looks so cool and edgy. However I personally would have preferred just a bit more length left at the nape. That’s just my personal preference. I understand your reasoning for the back length but could it still be accomplished with just an inch or so more length?
@lori90010 ай бұрын
The background was so cool and complimentary to the subjects (you, and the client). The "interview" with your client, making her do the work as in training her, and the makeup artist being complimentary to the overall final look. PERFECTION! You need to do more of these!!! I can't wait to see the future ones. And the fact you and DIonna are going to donate 10% to animal charities......well, you ended the video with a tear from me.

I agree - I like he teaches and let's her do the styling. Most stylists never really teach you or explain the color or cut process, you just trust they know what they are doing. And yes, you never seem to be able to make it look the same again! Great videos....well, all are. Love your personality and instructions!

Thank you!! It is rare that hairdressers will cut and style someone on TV or KZbin who has baby fine and thin hair!! As someone who has baby fine thin hair that is continually thinning it is so frustrating to see peoples hair coifed in a lot of various creative styles you know your hair will not attain. Thank you for thinking of us thin haired women.❤

Justin, I appreciate you for so many reasons, but the education you give to your clients is something that very few hairdressers do anymore. I've been to high end salons and every salon in between in my area and I've been hard pressed to find a stylist who gives any sort of education on how to style my hair. For that matter, I have yet to find a stylist that even knows how to effectively cut short hair period. I've walked out of so many salons feeling ugly because the cut just isn't executed correctly and the styling consisted of just a blow dry round brush style with little to no texturizing products used. Forget about any flat irons or curling irons put to anyone with shorter hair, yet one by one you see the clients with long hair walking out of the salon with some curl or body to their hair. I apologize if I sound grumpy, I'm just frustrated.

It is so difficult! I lost my hair stylist of 30 years and I’m truly floundering. I’ve had three haircuts since she left, all bad.😢 What makes it even worse is that I’ve had multiple surgeries on my scalp for squamous cell carcinoma and as a consequence have quite a bit of scarring and hair loss. My long time stylist had cut my hair through all of this and had learned how to handle it, so that I always looked good. So I have this problem and my hair is also fine and thin. I’m afraid I will never get a good haircut again! For the past three months, I’ve been cutting my own hair. I can do a pretty good job on the front and sides, but I’m not satisfied with what I can do with the back. I don’t think the self haircuts are sustainable and I really need someone who can cut my hair. I have a recommendation from a friend so I’ve made an appointment, but I’m so afraid this haircut will be another disappointment.😞 A good stylist who listens, who understands how to achieve the look you want, and helps you understand what products to use and how to style your own hair is literally worth their weight in gold!
@moonbatherdarling10 ай бұрын
@@jolynbranch1211 AMEN! I'm right there with you! The last haircut I had was an attempted pixie cut. I was devastated. You know what I finally decided to do in the interim? I bought a few wigs to wear. I cannot believe how expensive good, natural looking, synthetic wigs are, but when I calculate how much I've paid in botched haircuts with tips on top of that over the years, the wigs seem to be a better investment for me. That said, I cannot wear wigs forever. They get pretty hot after a while.

After watching your channel for several months, I found a terrific stylist and cut my thin lank long hair short in two sessions - first to a chin length bob and then to a shorter layered style. This has been absolutely life changing and I am not exaggerating. I look like I have three times as much hair! Now that I am rocking my easy, flattering hairstyle that looks great all the time with minimum effort - literally five minutes tops - I am exercising more, learning Italian, generally getting more things done. How does a hair cut do this? My long unflattering hair was dragging me down and sucking energy from my days. I have freed up a lot of time and I am so much more confident. So glad I found a stylist who could do this for me!

I employed the technique you demonstrated in blowing my hair dry and styling it this morning and it looks perfect! I have a very short (pixie-ish) hairstyle and I need volume at the crown in order to offset my thin oblong face. I have finally gotten my hair stylist to understand this and to cut it accordingly. I can actually style my hair better than she can but she does a great job with the color, highlights, lowlights, etc. Thanks so much for your very helpful information and demonstrations. Why don't they ever use hair spray that will actually hold thin hair. Hairdressers where I live never use hairspray that controls. I know my hair and it can look for about an hour before the whole thing has fallen into limp rag status. I get it that flowy hair that moves is great and sexy, etc. No one wants a helmet head. But I'd rather have it stay in the style I want than have it look awful after just a bit of time!

she seems happy But the last time i went to a salon i got a style like this and it was completely not what i wanted -she told me all the things i wanted were wrong and i got a cut similar to this: the raised back to me screamed “old lady trying to be young “ and i cried when i got home and never stepped back into any salon since-that was 2013. I felt bullied into a style that was disconnected from how i saw myself image. it may have followed the rules of how to make thin hair appear fuller but i did not feel like “me” i felt i was given a “Karen -esque “ one style fits all middle aged ladies look. Seeing this video 11 years later makes me think it will happen again if i go to a salon now…it’s depressing to me

I went to a salon a couple of times because the owner I believed could do great things and when she fixed it after the color (much darker than I already had and wanted lighter highlights!) she did this retro looking flying nun thing with the sides flying out like wings. If you know of any hair schools in Australia that would want to fly me out, I would be happy to teach a class! :-)

What is the mousse used? I loved this video and the haircut. I have fine thin hair and it was actually kind of strange to finally see a video with someone who has my hair texture. Thank you for a great video.

Thank you for the tip on getting the back to lie flat. Mine kept flipping up on one side and I just tried blowing it in circles and today is the first day it is not flipping up!

What a great video! Just watching your content helps me as a 48 year old with thinning, very slow growing hair to believe I could feel youthfully attractive one day again, thank you so much!

This is great a video. I would love to see how to do the same but for curly, thin, fine hair. I have curly hair naturally but get perm to help with volume. The top of my head is finer than the rest and I struggle with it so much. I want to cry just about everyday when doing my hair. I have a high forehead and have a fringe to cover if because I hate it. My hair is between ear and shoulder length. Any ideas?😢

Thank you for the video on fine thin hair. I'm 54, always have had fine, thin hair but was happy with it until the last 1.5 yrs. It was halfway down my back & tangling & shedding so I cut it shoulder length. Then, right after that I quickly lost about half my hair just washing it in the shower! 1.5 yrs later, I am really struggling with super fine thin hair. So desperate to try new things, but that is creating other problems. The clarifying shampoo my stylist recommendation has seemed to dry my hair out & I look tons more grey. And the conditioner made it look thinner, more straight & lifeless. Unfortunately right now my hair is a greying frizzy mess. I have an appt to review some labs for hormones and nutrients plus a dermotologist appt coming up. I have thought if my hair isnt better soon I too will opt for a shorter style. But Not giving up on getting it back.--Tanya

Beautiful! This is exactly what I need! How would I describe this cut to my stylist (if not able to show her the video)? Thank you! ❤

I haven’t found any stylist on YT who can work with thin fine hair like you do!

OMG thank you for the information. I have had breast cancer twice and been on hormone therapy which has reeked havoc on my hair. It's very thin and unmanageable. I can see the scalp through the front of my face and can't figure out how to style it. I also have cowlicks which make it more troublesome. I'm thinking of resorting to wigs because I just can't find a style I'm comfortable with. I've been watching your videos and would love to have your input either by seeing you or sending pictures.

I had my hair like that a few years ago, but shaved above the hairline a bit in the back. It was really fun and swishy. So happy for her!

I have always had fine hair and now thinner, so these tips really seem helpful. I had had my hair cut off at the chin length recently. However, I gave up on products. I might try them again. Since I have natural wave I seem to get a lot of body on the first day. If the weather is humid, I might get two days of nice body.

OMG! I am SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS MAN! He is PERFECT for anyone with hair that's thin and fine, and not much of it!! I wonder if the person who cuts my hair, would be offended if I asked them to watch this??!! Anyone ever try that??

My hair is exactly the same. I have a rounder small face. Would this style suit me? Also what size round brush did you use and did you have the dryer on highest heat on full? Thanks Justin, great that you did this on a person with actual fine THIN hair. She looked fresh and modern.
