Got to handle this Bagh Nakh, for grappling/force compliance. Any ideas to make this #edc friendly?

It was famously used by greatest maratha king shivaji to kill his opponent who became hostile during negotiations.

Interesting! Definitely an easy weapon to conceal in the hand. I suppose they didn’t do hand shakes as greetings back then.

@@wingardwearables his opponent named afzal khan had a history of strangling folks on pretext of meeting for negotiation. Shivaji's spies knew about it. So he was prepared. Shivaji basically teared his gut, exposing his intestine and then used the other weapon to get free. Historical document (Chitnis bakhar) describe the event like this: They rendered good wishes to each other, and as they advanced for the usual embrace, the Khan, who was tall and stout in body, took the Maharaja by his hand, dragged him forward, held him fast under his left arm, and tried to stab him with a dagger, the Khan had in his hand. The Maharaja had a steel armor on, and as he nimbly drew himself out, the blow could take no effect. The Raja was pleased that the Khan was the first to commit treachery and struck his belly with the tiger's claws, from the back. The Khan had a thin coat on. The blow was very skillfully dealt and it brought out the intestines. Then the Khan let go hold of Sivajl (whom he still held under his armpit) and shouted, "Sivaji ! You have committed treachery, this is the climax of a soldier's deed." Then he'caught hold of his wounded belly with his left hand and dealt a blow at the Maharaja, saying," Now feel my sword." The Maharaja had a chain helmet on, it was slightly broken and the Maharaja suffered a wound of a wheat's size. Then the Maharaja said, " Thou Pathan, now feel Sivaji's Bhavani," and dealt a blow at the Khan's shoulder. (Bhavani is name of a godes and also name of Shivaji's sword, currently at British museum.)

I see it as a belt carry. claws would be tucked under the belt, between belt and the body. it would need some way to attach to the belt from the top side. idea is that you put those claws on and deploy in one motion with the same motion you put your hand in the pocket.

Take a piece of PVC line up the blades you can even heat pvc up and press it into it if you want. Then take the PVC and put a couple loops on for a cross draw for belt.

Perhaps surgical tubing slipped into each hook so it's pocket friendly. When pressure is applied the steel will slide or cut through the rubber & get the job done.

single spike, slightly curved with the normal set up. Or make it similar to single or double stall brass brass knuckle, have it covering only part of the hand.

You can make it a little skinnier and make the claws more long, and then you can have a little rectangular plastic tube that you could put it into, And you could have a single ring exposed, so all you have to do is stick your finger in the ring pull it out and then stick your other finger in and you're good. You could also make it a hairstyle piece, make it to where it could be put in your hair or worn as an accessory. You got the quill for behind the ear, and now you got something you can put on your wrist. Put it on the bottom so that way it protects your tendons if you get slashed, but you can also put your arm up in a defensive position palm out and all you have to do is stick your fingers in pull it and now you got the tool your hand. If I was able to draw a diagram and post it in this comment section I would show you what I mean, but hopefully my explanation is sufficient. You just got to do it for the specific type of carry you want. Because I'm a fan of the other comments where the hooks have a little pressure actuated sheath on each little sharp nub that when it's applied it overtract. It would be really concealable if there were some moving parts involved, but that always causes problems. For instance a really easy way to make this pocket friendly it's just to make all of the little hooks on a hinge, so that way you can fold them into the flat dull part of the handle and then just stick it into your pocket. And maybe there is a little spring pressure bar to when you put it on your hand the spikes will stay taught. There are a lot of different ways you can do this if it's articulated but the plastic cover sheath idea, and my wrist mounted idea are pretty good starters.

It’s apparently not used for strikes/slaps-the thin rings would deglove your fingers. This is more for grabbing onto arms, necks and applying a pulling pressure

I’m guessing you have never been in a fight before, you are gonna get that thing stuck in your opponents clothes or your clothes. Most people who carry a knife or other blade weapon aren’t ready for all the blood when they use it. I’ve seen a handful of guys bring a knife to a fight and then lose the knife and get it used on them. Hearing a grow man scream in fear is not a fun sound
@wingardwearables
@wingardwearables Жыл бұрын
That sounds like something that could happen if the user didn’t understand how this weapon works. I know I didn’t until shown. Apparently this was developed for grappling, not for slaps or strikes to rip people to bits. Slaps or strikes with the hooks could risk the rings de-gloving the user’s fingers. This tool was for grabbing the opponent by the wrist or back of the neck (no clothing) and applying pressure for compliance. It was a less lethal tool.

I've wondered about this for quite a while. Have some sketches but none of them are quite right. I think it needs to have a pocket clip of some kind, but how to deploy it without hurting yourself I haven't gotten to yet.

Pocket clip is an interesting idea, especially if it can function as a finger ring or one of the hooks
