I was born in Ft.Pierce, FL and lived on the Florida coast most of my 70+ years. The coast is so unique, wonderful fishing, boating, scuba diving. You owe to yourself to visit the central areas of the state and "panhandle". The Gulf beaches are the most beautiful and Florida has more natural springs than most anywhere and there are state parks at many. I so enjoy your videos, be safe and God speed.

I rode my motorcycle on Daytona beach when it was free. Even camped on the beach overnight. After a few times the thrill wore off because of the corrosion from the sand. You should have stopped at Fort Matzlan just south of St Augustine. The ferry ride, people only to the fort in the river is free. Much history there.

Nice to go in early spring after a long winter and hang out a week or so. Far from the maddening crowd. A lot to see do as much or as little as you want and relax, warm up. Te Daytona 200 is early March so is the motocross race. All during bike week. You can see the bike zoo or enjoy the racing atmosphere on one biggest tracks in the world. Full demo rides from most all manufacturers are there. We do side trips through the week out and back. There is one place in the south you must go and that is Barber Museum in Birminghan Alabama, actually Leeds Al. just east of town. It is some theing to see and experience. It too has it's own racetrack.

@@Got2Go Like for you to be over here in next two weeks or even right now as the seasons are starting to change. Temps dropping big time and the leaves are starting to turn. Your route in reverse would be absolutely great down say to mid-Georgia. So someday plan a fall trip. Even better I have ridden home from Northern Alaska at first of September when the leaves are changing up there all the way down. When you hit the Rockies it is fall again with fresh colors and by the time you get to the southeast it is fall again with all the beauty this side has to offer. The northeast is spectacular but we are not the only ones with the idea to see the changing colors. It is and gets even more crowded. Vermont , New Hampshire upstate New York in the Adirondacks. You have seen it so some back tracking or travel through maybe fly in to Montreal and do the St. Lawrence seaway and the Gaspe Peninsula. The on to Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland. Ferry back to Portsmouth Maine store the bike once again or travel elsewhere. Still a lot of good riding til November as the route can vary greatly considering weather events. Hey, good fortune, safe travels. Always enjoy your presentation and vids. You do a really good job. I like to just ride and do some photos. At 67 I've seen a lot of North America and other places. Take care. Ever have a question or need help/support drop a line.

I am using the shure se535. They are studio in ear phones that are noise isolating and because of the special way of wearing them (you put them into you ear and the cable on top around the ear) they sit very well. They are as well available in cheaper versions (shure se215 for example) if you don’t want to spend so much money. Make sure to buy their remote control cable, otherwise you can’t switch music on-off or skip songs if you don’t have that. My travel partner uses them too and is very happy - I already recommended them to many people and about 80 percent are happy with them, 20 percent can’t wear them because they cause them pain. The difference to the intercom and motorcycle system is, that the sound quality is really amazing even when going on the highway - so I can’t go back to anything else.

I've now seen about 4 of your videos. I started at the middle instead of starting at Florida. I find myself in agreement with you on all of your insights, and opinions of the areas that I've seen you travel through. Daytona Beach is one stop I've made about 3 times from KY. The first one was about 30 years ago traveling on an old Yamaha Virago (I seem to remember having someone tell me that the loose translation of Virago was wicked woman, or something similar, I have never looked it up to confirm that, maybe there was an implied message with that.) Anyway, I'd say those times in Daytona were better than these days. When I rode into Daytona I made the beach my first stop. I got there a little before dark. It did not cost a dime to ride along the beach. I got some directions, and did not have any trouble finding the beach. I had rode all day, it was relaxing to ride along the beach. Just as I began to settle into the sights of the sunset from the West on the beach, and the sea breeze I heard from behind me a cop with a loud speaker. I did not realize what he was saying, or who he was talking to, i stopped turned around, and then I realized what he was saying. I'm glad he yelled at me. After seeing my KY plates, and seeing that I was riding with my helmet on he was trying to tell me that I did not have to wear my helmet while riding on the beach, for that matter I'm not sure if i was required to ride with a helmet on the highway. I nodded a thank you to the cop, and took my helmet off, and tied it down. I was genuinely thankful to the cop. Riding along without the helmet was fantastic..

It’s a kinda weird they make you pay for access to a public beach.
@Got2Go2 жыл бұрын
It’s a bit weird (and a steep price in my opinion) - but on the other hand you as well pay entrance fees for national parks and state parks, so if the money is used for maintaining it (especially with all the vehicles driving on it) I am actually ok with paying it. I have spent money in way more uselesss things in the past . 😂
@ryanmalone26812 жыл бұрын
@@Got2Go the national parks require so much upkeep though. That was just a strip of sand and it was so expensive. At least when you’re paying for a national park you’re paying for more than a sandy parking lot. I’d pay it as well to try it out, but it pisses me off when people charge the public for nothing and the public owns it. It’s exploitative because the driver isn’t to pay to maintain it, but rather because they CAN exploit you.

Not possible to ride on the beaches in the Netherlands. I always have a special pice of plastic to put under the side stand, when the underground is soft, under the saddle.

I guess it’s always the attitude and as well the expectations that you are having - if you are looking for mountains you might be disappointed with Florida because it is flat, and no magic will make any huge mountains appear out of nowhere. But that as well should not come as a big surprise when visiting. But if you are open and willed to enjoy some beach and coastal life too - go for it! And in my opinion life mostly luckily is long enough to do both! And I as well think that’s and awesome thing about the USA and a road trip like this - that you have such a huge variety of landscapes and can travel through all of them in one trip.
