GOT7 at 2018 MAMA in HONG KONG | All Moments

I think this is quite the bare minimum for a group that is about to turn 5 years old. We know that GOT7 aren't as popular in South Korea as compared to some of the other artists but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are so popular worldwide. There were a lot of fans (myself included) waiting to see GOT7 appear on the screen during the award show but we only really got 2-3 shots. Once again, I am disappointed by how eagerly mnet posts about got7 on their sns' but then refuses to give them a decent amount of attention during the actual award show. GOT7 could also very well have won awards like best male dance group etc. but they don't, because they're got7 and it's just better to hand them some sort of a popularity award every year (Though other noms who won deserved it too). At least GOT7 had a better performance this year but with the lack of SM & YG artists, I thought perhaps GOT7 would finally get a bit more of a spotlight, but mnet forgets all their previous ties and chooses to focus on the 2-3 groups that'll bring them the most views :/ Anyways, GOT7 did a fantastic job and I'm proud of who they are.

Out of all the years GOT7 has been active, 2018 was the year our boys REALLY WORKED THEIR ASSES OFF. 3 comebacks, 4 if you include Miracle. A World Tour. Making their own history being the first boy group to perform at the Barclay Center, almost if not selling out along with other US success. Breaking their OWN records with each comeback. Jackson being one of top solo artist in China, specifically HONG KONG at that. All of that for the Fans Choice Top Ten & Tik Tok Most Popular Award.. securing only 2 little awards from MAMA, for a WHOLE YEAR'S WORTH of hard work. -- I'm happy that they won SOMETHING, BUT it's still frustrating to see our boys pour their sweats, & tears this year for little shitty awards. Along with basically barely any on screen time during these award shows. Like I don't expect GOT7 to win Artist of the year, but can we get 1 daesang award at least? Smh. GOT7 deserves so much better than this. I feel like after this year's treatment, JYPE definitely needs to join the boycott. MNET basically slapped JYPE artists in the face.

While GOT7 have given us exceptional performance, they are still given nothing. It doesn't cost a lot to give got7 to give the respect they deserve. go ahead, give them only a freaking app award but don't treat them less of a rookie group. I honestly don't understand why they are CONTINUOUSLY treated the way they are. for years, got7 has only minuscule amount of respect, the bare minimum. It's unfair how they have worked so damn hard only to get this kind of treatment. The ugly treatment and disrespect they get is something any and every artist should not experience. Their talent, skills, and personality are taken for granted. As an ahgase, I've always tried to be patient and to understand, to be hopeful that better things will happen for them and they do but I have come to a breaking point, I'm utterly broken how people don't give them a chance and get shit. If you see in the mnet channel the videos uploaded you will notice "surprise!" no stray kids compilation video... I thought it was because they were rookies but then noticed there is a compilation of mama Japan for Iz*one so :((( I'm not bashing - at all. It's just that it saddens me, the favouritism you know? Thank you for making this video! Although don't forget, *GOT7 aren't rookies* . They're one of the *top most popular multinational/worldwide* groups. They reign over Thailand and are picked #2 after parents for children's role models over there. They easily make Number 1 in Japan on the charts, and their 14k-16k concerts around the world are just about completely sold out minutes after ticket release. Not only that, but they dedicated their title track by singing FOUR different languages for all their international fans. So don't forget about their popularity. Don't forget that MAMA takes place in HONG KONG, and now Japan and South Korea. Don't forget that GOT7 gave the message to Media Outlets in America that all K-pop groups are friends with each other and help each other lead to new beginnings. I don't understand how you couldn't give GOT7 a bigger and better presence. Even Jackson Wang, a face for Hong Kong. Mnet has collaborated so much with GOT7, but the minute MAMA happens, it's as if you don't know them. GOT7 have painted a positive image and have still endured so much from you.

I want to give a BIG THUMB DOWN TO MAMA, for the way they treated GOT7. Using them bc of Jackson popularity in Hong Kong, and for another outstanding live performance, but giving them a pity award, when they deserved Best Male Group. A real group of 7 friends who've been working and creating together for 5 years, did two world tours, and don't try to copy others but are true to themselves. A real group, not a marketing product with an expiration date... MAMA gives awards to groups who don't even sing live, it's a shame (I'm not talking about BTS, who sang live like always. They are true artists like GOT7).
