also i agree that spinning top is a better album over all. jaebeom, yugyeom and jinyoung added some things to this lastest album (jb produced Pray and Thursday). but in general they didn’t do as much. i’m assuming it’s just bc they’ve been SUPER busy this year. but you calling my name is such a good track, so well composed and written, that i still feel like it’s one of the best of the year and definitely a milestone for got7.

some of got7’s older stuff like A and If You Do kind of have funky elements. JYP really likes more classic funky elements in the music he writes so if you go back enough you can find some stuff but they really haven’t done much funk/disco stuff. I personally love it.

A and if you do are 2 of my favourite got7 tracks!! Not really sure I can hear the old school funky disco sound in those tracks tho 🤔 I’ll have it in mind and look out to see if I can hear it when I listen to them again~~

FiFiZappaReacts in A it’s kind of debatable. maybe it’s when i hear the piano chords in it, they’re very simple, no improvisation, type of funk. but in If You Do the bass and some of the drums are really funky to me. that’s as close as got7 has gotten except for like Take My Hand (one of my all time favorite got7 songs). Good is COMPLETELY disco too in the chorus. strings and all. that’s one i forgot about.
