GOT7 "NOT BY THE MOON" M/V REACTION

This is easily their best MV, song and probably choreography! I had a feeling coming in that this would be their best era visually speaking but to this point? I’m shocked at the quality they delivered this time around (not that their past MV or songs were bad). The production value of this looks insane to me, it felt expensive and delicate, theatrical and dramatic, sophisticated and aesthetic. I love the whole “price charming” look they have going on and Jackson as the king makes so much sense to me. It felt really fairytale-ish in a lot of ways tbh. I loved how the MV took us on an adventure (while I don’t really understand what’s happening not gonna lie) and brings us along on a journey. The vocals were spectacular and the rapping probably one of Mark’s best tbh! The dance looks so intricate again and genius too as they have introduced their concept of the moons etc. in the dance moves! This is by far their best era and comeback because it has such depth to it (whatever that means); it feels to me like this song was more complex than any of their past songs? I dont’ know how to describe this but that’s how I feel. I absolutely loved this comeback! And as always I loved how they included the fandom with the birds and the green lights!

Hey guys, if anyone understood the plot of the MV please let me know cause not gonna lie, I still cannot comprehend what’s going on there lol I see those people in the capes and think they’re the bad guys and that somehow GOT7 are going at war with them? Or trying to make peace? Hence the dove ? (Was that even a dove?) What is it with that tiny bottle? What’s in it? Poison? I’m so confused. I think that in the end they are going to the next place they are going to "act". I'll explain. I think they are a traveling theater and they, in this case, represented Romeo and Juliet. That's the reason because they, at the begging, appear inside the theater, like they are going to begin. Then, at the end, they are going to another place to represent the piece. I don't know if I'm right but it's the only reason I find. Sorry for my English, I hope it can be understandable 😅

The theme is Romeo and Juliet. Juilet tells Romeo not to swear by the moon for his love for her, because the moon always changes. For this song, Got7 are saying that they will not swear on the moon for their love for their fans because it's eternal. They have been hinting at this comeback with the moon in eclipse, their stages and their last comeback. The dove represents their fans since we are called Aghase (I think it means baby bird in Korean). They always have birds in their videos.

This comeback is inspired by Romeo and Juliet, more specifically act 2 scene 2, where Romeo is talking to Juliet about his love for her and she tells him to not swear by the moon because the moon is always changing. In the mv there a quiet a few references to the novel, such as the little glass bottle which represents poison, the white coffin that refers to the death of the two lovers, them staring at a balcony as if they were romeo waiting for juliet...in the end you can see them holding small notebook as if they were an author writing a story, basically shakespeare

JB had the audacity to wear a half-up man bun! it's a miracle that we're both still alive. Also, this MV is basically one big reference to Romeo&Juliet: The balcony with Jinyoung, the coffin with YoungJae, the poison in JBs hand. I guess the people with capes are either the guards chasing after Romeo or the represent the two families.

I really think that this concept really fits them, I personally didn’t stan them because I always wanted them to do a dark a trap/hip pop concept. I loved this comeback! I was shaking while watching the MV because I was blown away by everything. I was not expecting such a good title track after 'You Calling My Name', but they did it again! I pre-ordered because I could not control my urge to own another masterpiece of GOT7, and I obviously am very happy I did! I still don't think it beats 7 for 7, to me that's just superior, and I adore Spinning Top, but I think I do like the album as a whole more than Call My Name. All in all, I'm very proud of these boys, I love them, and I hope they can get many wins with this amazing song!
