I don't have to prove my credibility to internet strangers, but I _will_ say the difference is that hip hop originated in America, and it's a lot more than just a music genre. There are sociopolitical dynamics involved that often don't make it to other countries/cultures when they adopt the music/battling component. There's a reason I used to ONLY watch KOTD, then after only a year I ditched that outlook. Long story short, most of the comments I see here prove to me that a select demographic of Aussie fans are just here to cock-gobble their hometown hero. Kers could have choked every round and these jabronies still would have given him the W. Illmac is a better, more lyrical, and more unique emcee *period*. It's easy to correlate talent directly with views & labels. So what if Kers is one of the biggest rap names in Australia? Kevin Gates is a bigger name than Aesop in America, with more views and more prestige, but he's still lyrically trash by comparison. That's the difference.

You can be on either side and have your own opinion of who won this but this was in 2012, honestly go look at both these artist today and you'll discover that Kerser is huge now constantly being on top year after year with sold out shows and Illmaculate is still just doing battle rap, which is great and good luck to him. I agree with that but you missed the "it's all in how you judge it". With rap battles it would be hard to judge intricacy and creativity because you get one chance to let everything sink in, whereas on a recorded track you can listen over and over to absorb more of what the artist is saying. I think Kerser was clever in his rhymes, but he also kept it concise so to make sure everything he was saying was received by the crowd. Illmaculate was clever too, but a little convoluted for the setting of
