I was there that night. I'm a pandemic ARMY and haven't seen the guys live before. I held out on going to LA and Vegas thinking they would tour soon. I wasn't going to miss out on seeing my bias live. I have been to a lot of concerts. Big acts in arenas and stadiums to small act at bars and basements. I have never experienced what I experienced that night at Lolla. It was the best show I have ever been to. The energy from Hobi and the crowd was so electric. The connection between him and all of us was like nothing I've experienced before at a concert. Everyone around me was just so excited and proud of him. Being around that many ARMYs and singing along and screaming and jumping and dancing is something I will never forget.

I was about 50 feet from this stage. I can’t tell you how incredibly proud I am of Hobi. He made so many new fans that night who didn’t know BTS or Kpop prior to seeing this show. It was exciting hearing so many people say they were downloading his album to listen to on their own.

I was lucky enough to attend this concert! It was the single best concert experience of my life. That includes BTS concerts to be honest. Being able to concentrate on just one member the whole time was absolute heaven. The feeling there that night was indescribable all of the army that were there we’re just amazing and we had the best time together.

It was epic! I got there almost 9hrs early and waited in the scortching heat without a single cloud in the sky. Needless to say, I was up pretty close, downside for me to keep my spot was was no bathroom, no food, no sitting, just unlimited water (that jhope paid for 😭 to pass out for the crowd). BUT it was worth it! The energy from J-Hope & Army was unmatched! Made new Army friends and even ran into ARMY I met at the Vegas concert which was so nice! Saying he was incredible feels like an understatement, I was in tears when it was over and few times in between lol. Crowds give me anxiety, ironically BTS calms my anxiety, so I felt so happy watching him even tho I was squished like a sardine in a can. We, stangers in the crowd sang, danced, hugged and cried together in the crowd and had the best experience watching this LEGEND 💜

I drove 6 and a half hours to see him perform at Lollapalooza and it was worth every second! ARMY came through! I am 43 years old and music has always been a passion, I don't have enough room in the comments to name all the shows I've been to but this was my second time at Lollapalooza and I will remember this time for the rest of my life!

First Korean artist to headline a major US music festival; first artist to EVER sell out a Lollapallooza Sunday; only artist to ever get his OWN merch booth there; longest set, 70 minutes; estimated live crowd 100-110K; viewers on Weverse 14.9M. Did we ever imagine that the biggest Lolla stage would be utterly commanded by a young man rapping in Korean? And that the crowd would be fanchanting right along with him? Man. The more you think about the odds against it, the more amazing it becomes. 🤩 The prompts are pretty standard for all performers, actually- you just rarely get stage-angle camera shots on them. I hear it said that J-Hope doesn't care for 'em much- finds 'em distracting- and he probably didn't need them, considering his 5-6 hour practices each day. So when you're done with the concert, you need to check out the Vlive Hobi did with Jimin right afterwards. Not long, 20, 25 minutes. Jimin had some work to do in CA, but he stopped in Chicago to see his bro and be there at the show with him, and afterward. (Hitman Bang was there, too, for him and for TXT on Saturday. (They rocked it too!)) Having Jimin show up was a huge boost to J-Hope, and Jimin was almost as blown away by the show as everyone else. Bangtan brotherhood can't be beat. 🥰

When Jhope sang baseline (one of his oldest song) then said "hope right here, this is for the OG ARMY out there" and then started singing THEE CYPHER!!!! I was literally screaming crying 😭 if u know the lyrics you'll understand the hype at that time- it was SO iconic! Cypher pt 1,2,3 are the the diss track for those 'underground k-rappers' who used to mock and insult BTS especially RM and Suga for being idols and artists.. this was so iconic. And THEN HE SANG HANSANG!!! It's a collab song with supreme boi! He was gonna be the 8th member of BTS but he chose to be a underground rapper instead of a idol and he's one of the only k-rapper who stood by BTS when all other k-rappers were mocking and insulting BTS. He still to this day is friends with the members and he supports BTS the most! Hansang is such a nostalgic and cool song

Hobi's Lollapalooza goes down in history. He sold out the most tickets in their history and we know why!!! He was insane for this. Hobi was nervous as hell (as told by him in his vlive right after this concert). He worked his ass off for his album and this solo stage. Luckily and thankfully Jimin flew down a day before the concert and cheered him on. There are several clips on KZbin where you can spot jimin enjoying standing on a higer pedestal above the stage. I think this era of Jhope is a culmination of years of suppressed emotions. Nobody expected this but he absolutely slayed!

Hobi's performance here is legendary ! His stage presence, his voice, energy, his charisma, are incredible. But also the setting, the talentuous live band, and the arrangements, tho ! He switch between Jack in the box and his old 2018 mixtape and it just sound perfect. Base line, Cypher 1, Hangsang, juste seems to be part of the new album. Peace of peace and Equal sign back to back are perfect together. Even in the second part of the concert , he mixed so well new and old songs... proof that the sound he has now was already there back in time, and his mixed feelings between hope and darkness, joy and doubt...He just change the light to show us who he is, but remain the same, a complex human being with both hope and fear, a great performer, a great artist, songwriter, composer, storyteller. I'm glad that people realised, with his solo album, and this amazing Hobipalooza, that Jung Hoseok is more than just the energetic ball of sunshine we all love. I can't wait to listen to all the members solo album, and I hope they will have a opportunity to perform some of their songs in live performances.

No BTS member before Hobi has ever performed a solo concert like this. Solo songs performed here and there, yes. Actual full headlining the stage as a solo, full hour+ performance? Hobi's the first. (And if I'm wrong, ARMY will provide the right info within two seconds of me posting this, lol -- but I think I'm right?)

RM was one of the headlining artists of the HipHop Festival 'All Force One : Hot & Cool' in AX-Korea. He performed songs from his first mixtape, collabs like Buckubucku and ofc BTS songs He had the opportunity to bring out anyone he wanted as a guest performer that night and some thought it could be one of underground buddies but he included Suga and Jhope in his set.

this show was epic! hobi took the stage for the first time without the boys and proved he's a giant with bts but also phenomenal just with himself. it was insane, the energy for this show! not to mention that I loved the fact that he performed the entire jack in the box album and even songs from his first mixtape "hope world" that had never been sung live and some solos! in the part where he says about the oldest and starts singing cypher I was very shocked! I was with the boys at that time and it got me, there's no other word but badass! I loved him singing all aggressive and cursing, it was a side of him that surprised me. and cns with this vibe finally performed with becky since launch, legendary! i was so proud of him, i love his first album and jack in the box won me over after this hobipallooza too! hobi was very nervous for this show, he practiced all the time and the stress of being alone was very difficult. and Jimin just got on a plane and went to him to support him, Hobi was very grateful and can calm down and have more fun. jimin was watching him and said he never saw him cursing so much, he thought it was really cool. I laughed a lot! I've never seen a lollapalooza as energetic as this one, everyone was freaked out at how quickly it sold out. your live streamed for free on weverse had more than 15 million people watching, including me! jhope is a phenomenon! 😔💗 when he said it was his story and played p.o.p i wanted to cry and faint at the same time, it's my peace song, this song warms my heart since release and has hobi colors in it. I never imagined he would sing.... and blueside part.... it was like touching an open wound, he just put bandages on all of them at that moment. hobi is so talented, sweet and extraordinary it was like touching an open wound, he just put bandages on all of them at that moment. hobi is so talented, sweet and extraordinary

The moment that Lollapalooza itself, through the official Twitter account, started tweeting out the literal #Hobipalooza tag... that's when you knew just how f*cking HUGE JHope's performance was gonna be. More than just that he's the last act on the last day (by definition the 'biggest name'), when the organizer changes *their own name*, willingly, more than once... yeah, they knew exactly what was coming, and JHope did NOT disappoint. 💜💜💜💜💜💜

HOBI said he wanted to go out of his comfort zone and show a different side of himself. His target was for those who didn’t know him because he genuinely wanted their feedback so he could improve (like he needs to). He showed that he is a phenomenal performer as always. He can hold his own and was made for the stage. So many positive reviews from people who had never heard of him and were curious that went to his show. He made history that night as the last headliner and sold more tickets for his show In the 31 years of lollapalooza for any artist. THATS LEGENDARY! I’m so proud of him and all he has accomplished by himself. He literally rocked that stage!

One thing you may want to check out as a bit of a follow up (after Pt2) is the VLive he did right after the gig was over...he was so tired, but so happy..he truly worked sooo hard for this, rehearsed his arse off and even said he memorized so much of what he said, (thus the prompter boards in front of him on stage) because he isn't fluent in English, yet he pulled it off so well!!!! He owned that stage and proved what a talented artist he is-not that he needed to because we all know, but in front of a totally foreign (to him) audience, since it was streamed all over. Loved that ARMY came out in throngs to be there and support him-it really was Hobipalooza!!! 💜💜

They say if he's not your bias when you go to a BTS concert, he will be by the time you leave. His stage presence and charisma is on another level. His crowd engagement and energy, OMG! Another cute lil' saying is that if he's not your bias, he is your bias's bias!! Gotta love that one, right?! This concert was amazing; I literally was dancing and taking pictures of my TV in my living room..lol! J-hope really "poured his heart and soul into it". I can't even begin to say how much him and this concert affected me. Knowing that he struggled with this album so much on whether or not we would like it, how he struggled with the performance trying to get it just right, not eating or sleeping like he should, my heart is so full and I just wanted to give him the biggest hug! He should be so proud of himself as we (ARMY) are so very proud of him. I've went to many concerts in my life including PTD in Las Vegas and obviously that concert was amazing and unmatched, but I will say this concert was just under that. Jhope aka J :) and this album truly deserve a Grammy!

Hobipalooza was literally a legendary and historic moment ! That 1 hour 17 min(appx) performance felt like a few minutes. Wasn't there to watch it live , but those are the lucky ones who watched it live! I love Hobi and this album was extraordinary. I loved that the songs from mixtape were also included. Ahhhhh yes!!!! My precious bias JHope at his very best. I sat and cried the whole way through this when I first saw it. I am so proud of Hobi. That crowd!!!!! Apparently there were 105,000 people there to see him and millions screening it live. They sold over a million dollars worth of JHope merch as well. Hobi did a Vlive right after the performance and you should watch that too. There is no way I would ever be able to see any of the guys live even if they came here to the UK. I suffer from Agoraphobia and those crowds would kill me 😥 Part two next week please. Thank you Luke. This has made my week 💜💜

Can't wait for part 2. Hobi is killing it! I watched it live here in the UK = well worth getting up at silly o'clock to watch it and I've watched in again and again. FYI Jimin was watching in a "box" on the left of the stage (as you look at it) and he was vibing too. So pleased you're enjoying it. I heard RM is collaborating with a Korean group - Balming Tiger - I think it's being released on 1 September 💜💜💜

I don't remember if you've listened to the full album or his Hope World mix tape, but he performed a mix (honestly most of the songs) from both and it was so well curated! I was lucky enough to be there and we all lost out minds when he pulled out Baseline, a Cypher, and Hangsang right out the gate. We knew he'd do some of his other work but we weren't prepared! His VLive with Jimin afterwards was also really cute, totally recommend if you're interested. The amount of people watching the VLive while leaving the concert (including myself) was honestly hilarious. These men have power haha

Is this the most amazing concert or what? Love Hobi. Oh the first part is my cup of tea. He is a rock star, made for the stage. The whole album is impecable. But the old songs he performed were a blast. I watch this every day. The live band was perfect. Those guitars! Baseline, Cypher and Haengsang are stuck in my head. He rehearsed like 6 hours a day. That´s how we got an amazing performance. The way he talked to himself at "What if" is genius. Yesss, part 2 was so much fun

This is why Hobi is called 👑"The King of Performance 👑🔥🔥🔥👑 Because it's easy to see he was born to be on stage. Performing and being on stage seems to come so naturally to him, his interactions, his charisma, etc... etc.... it's insanely amazing to watch. Even with BTS concerts, I have heard so many times that if Hobi wasn't your bias when you first go to their concert than he will be your bias by the time you leave. Because he is amazing and apparently, according to others, is insanely awesome on a whole nother level to see live in person.

I was blessed to see them in LA and Vegas, and he is indeed amazing. They each one have something special about them. My impressions: Jin- his shoulders really are wide. His voice carries and is strong and silky. RM- he was energetic, a real hype man. So handsome and strong looking. V- he knows what he does to people and exactly where the cameras are! He was funny and lovely. JK- seemed to be enjoying himself so much! He’s also so lovely. He gives it all on every song. His voice is perfection. Suga- was larger than life, a huge presence. Confident. So sexy and cool. I was a bit taken aback by him. Jimin- seemed to glide in LA. I saw him there but still feel as if he can’t be real. In Vegas he was more human to me but still the most unreal. He just moves around like he’s something else. J-Hope- I was Hobi biased before, he makes me smile all the time, but after I felt something else. More respect, I think. He was so professional, so conscious of seeing and being seen by every person. He moved all over the stage to interact and entertain. He was intimidating! 👀 I can’t imagine seeing him at Lollapalooza. My heart would’ve just stopped.

@@jenwinsim I am very jealous I would have loved to go to either one of those concerts. But its amazing that you were able to go to both, and I am so happy for you. Thank you for sharing your experience, loved reading it all. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Oh and I get what your saying, I think I would to an extent find him intimidating as well but I think it's because of that respect and admiration, as a person, as a performer, etc.... that we have for him. I know that I respect him so much not just as a part of BTS but as a person as well. He is a true inspiration at it's purest! And Hobi is my bias as well. I love and respect all of the members a lot, but Hobi is apart of what helped draw me in to BTS, and since than, since the very beginning he has always been my bias. And I could say I have bias wreckers to a certain extent, but the truth is if I seriously thought about it I would always choose Hobi, easily. He is just so amazing, his talents, his personality, his work ethic, never stops impressing me, and my respect and admiration for him just keeps growing and growing. And with out a doubt he was born to be on stage, his charisma, and stage presence are absolutely insane. In the best way!💜💚👑💚💜

@@sinevins I flew by myself to those shows, left my family for Thanksgiving and Easter! But I didn’t feel lonely at all because ARMY is kind and everybody was there with so much love in their hearts💜 I’m an older person (53) and if I get another chance I’ll go again! Since then my daughter and son are kind of into them and would like to go. I’ve been to concerts before but these were like an “experience”. I didn’t get to fly to Chicago because my daughter was moving into college, and the cost, and also the festival scenario would’ve stressed me a bit! I thought I would see Hobi as smiley and silly and well hopeful, but he was definitely some type of force. I don’t know if I could even look him straight on if I were right beside him. He is just lovely, lanky, elegant. The closest he was to me (on the carts) he turned just before he got too close, but I think it was to save my life! Seeing Joon’s dimples and Yoongi’s porcelain skin almost took my old heart out!

Hey Luke, this is my first time talking to you. Thanks so much for doing this reaction. For part two, you may want to use the youtube channel, Enjoy BTS More, because there are English subtitles, which really adds to it. I've already watched the concert many times, but it just gets better. First of all, I was so proud of "Jay." He is so at home on the stage and did an absolutely amazing job! This is not just because he is talented, but because of the amount of preparation work he did. Having a live band made all the difference. Second of all, I was so proud of ARMY. They knew all the lyrics for an album that had only been out a few weeks, plus getting to jam with Hope World, which had also never been performed live, giving Jay so much support. Impressive is the main word that comes to mind. Others have said you should watch the VLive afterwards, I concur. It added so much to know the behind the scenes with Jimin. I look forward to The Rise of Bangtan so much every week, so please continue that after you finish this! Thanks again for your reactions.

Blue Side is one of my favorite songs (blue background and J-hope's silhouette). Also, I don't know if you knew this already but he didn't just sings songs from his new album Jack in the Box, he also sang songs from his mixtape HopeWorld. Oh, and to answer your question about what Lollapalooza was like - it was crazy hot and honestly, you need to be in decent physical shape to endure it. I stood there cramped in on all sides by strangers, like literally pressed against me, for over ten hours. I couldn’t leave to use a restroom, or I would lose my spot, so I rode the line between staying hydrated & not drinking enough that I would need to go to the bathroom. It was every bit as miserable as it sounds, but once Hobi took the stage, all the misery faded away, and it became one of the coolest moment of my life.

The whole concert is just fire and perfection and super epic. I am so envious too. I wish i was there too. I'm just happy they have this officially shared by Hybe. I am forever thankful.
