gosh this speech for this year is so significant for BTS and Army. The day they took an all kill and took home their dasaengs. Someone correct me if im wrong, I can't remember if they won every category or the biggest award of the night, but it was the day BTS told us they were considering disbanding. What a dark day, I can't hold back tears 😞 One of BTS's most vulnerable times, you can tell they were really emotional and were all going through sh!t at the time. BTS look what they did when they stayed together. Look how much more they've accomplished and achieved! I hope they're not regretful of that. BTS laugh, we laugh, BTS cry, we cry. Don't ever feel ashamed of crying on camera, we will never ever, EVER, judge you for empathizing with their words. I've watched their Artist of the Year acceptance speech many times, and it always brings me to tears. I can't imagine anyone who loves them as a group and as individuals not feeling that way. There's so much joy in that award, not only for BTS, but for all ARMY's as well. BTS saved me in many ways, and I will always be grateful to them for that, for their music, and for the extraordinary human beings that they are. I love BTS! 💜

I signed up for this emotional rollercoaster even after knowing the outcome. I knew I was going to cry like crazy! I remember watching this video for the first time and it still hits the same every time! I knew you were going to cry too. But thank you for being so transparent with your emotions!💜💜 2018 MAMA is a landmark in their career. This is one of my favorite performances by them. This speech gets me every time. I'm glad that you didn't cut out your reaction as it's pretty much how we all felt when we first saw this speech as well. That they are so humble and grateful for everything is just some of the many things that we all love about them and this speech just shows off both of them. They are truly deserving of this award but you'll never hear them say something like that which is why we love them more. Couple of fun facts: I about died laughing when you asked where JK was during that one time they got the award. JK is notorious for doing everything in his power to avoid having to speak at award shows. You really should check out some compilations about that. And second, the hand kiss at the beginning. Jin is known for the hand kiss. There is a reason why when the host asked for a hand kiss but didn't mention a specific member, Jin immediately stepped up and did it. There is also being aware that not everyone has good intentions towards them and are more than happy to use them for clout. It's because of this that Army are so protective of them. I was prepared to sign up for this video today. BTS have brought back my inner self. Before I met BTS through the screen, I was so deep in depression, self loathing and not in my right state of mind. BTS has brought back the real me and I can't thank them enough for that. BTS literally saved me from the depths of loneliness and from suicide. BTS did the same for me. My boyfriend kill himself 8 years ago, and I went on with my life not really ever processing what I had felt. I was on youtube november 2020, the hotline wasnt picking up and I was ready to end my life. But the corner of my eye I saw their song stay gold so I picked on it, and the song - even though it was in japanese and I understood no words = I understood their emotion. It broke me down in my kitchen and I started crying and realizing how long I havent actually FELT anything . I wasnt living my life and I wasnt feeling anything. I went down the rabbit hole of BTS, and eventually songs like ephiphany and love yourself and the triology... it has been a really journey. I started seeing a therapist because they are right I need to love myself n do what I need to do. Im not some random stranger on the internet. Im a 31 year old, living in san francisco, working in one of the biggest tech firms out there. It happened to me, and it definitely happened to a lot of people during pandemic. We found bts, when we needed them the most.

What hits the hardest is the realization how much they struggled for their art and that they were so close to stop being BTS. Never apologize for being anything but what you are! I genuinely look forward to all of your reactions, especially the ones for BTS. They saved my life…I found them in my darkest hour. I was ready to give up. I was so tired of all the pain and ugliness that the people of this world throw at one another and the other creatures that inhabit it. I have struggled with different aspects of my self-love and self-worth for my entire life. everything that I have ever wanted to do, be, or have, I fought for (and paid the price for that fight). I wanted to stop fighting because I was so tired. I turned on a playlist in KZbin for some music so I would not feel alone….and there they were. I do not even remember what song it was from them. But I remember thinking that they had the most beautiful voices I had ever heard. I spent the entire day on my bathroom floor listening to every song I could find lol. I started watching different KZbin clips of them (music videos, talk show appearances, etc.) I learned that there is still beauty in this world. These seven men will never know me or understand how much they mean to me. But I will thank them and love them until the day I die. And no matter how hard life gets or how truly exhausted I feel, I will never forget what I learn from them. “No darkness, no season is eternal.” 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

The tears were flowing here too....can't help it with these beautiful 7 souls-they ALWAYS say they will try harder, to do better for US/ARMY, and it breaks my heart that they never feel they can take credit for all that they have done and accomplished. This award show has my all time favourite version of Airplane Pt. 2. Hobi and SUGA dancing together then JK slinking up the thrust stage is just magic. I could tell how much you were enjoying it by the huge smile on your face. Then watching Idol makes me wonder how SUGA managed all those large arm movements when he was in such pain from his shoulder injury. Seeing them win the Daesang and their emotional reactions was wonderful and touching. They weren't supposed to mention the hard times they went through that year but Jin let the cat out of the bag and poor V just couldn't stop crying. He came off stage still crying and took some time to stop. V is good at fake crying as he is an actor but those were not fake tears. TG they didn't disband. If they had both you and I would probably never have come to know them in the last couple of years. How much poorer our lives would've been.

Despite the hardships, the criticisms, the blatant discriminations they've faced, they stood their ground, held their head high and kept themselves rooted to the ground and chased their passions. You love the fact that BTS are real! We love when you are real. You share your feelings, your emotions, and your tears. That's real. It's a habit that you apologize for being sad. If you noticed BTS has never apologized for being real, sharing their feelings, expressing their heart felt emotions, and crying real tears. Be like BTS. Don't feel bad. If there are people in here who don't like it, they have the option to unsubscribe or click off your channel. I can tell you this truth. We all cried when we heard this. We all were touched emotionally. It made us love them even more that they shared their truth and deep hurt. At their last Festa they all cried when they announced they were taking a Break. They didn't apologize for being sad or crying. They are very healthy mentally snd physically because they do express their feelings openly. But here is the good thing. Even though they were sad they recorded a song that gave us all hope. "Yet to Come". Even though they were sad announcing this major change in their life and performing lifestyle they understood it was the very best thing for them to do. They were all burned out from working 360 days a year with maybe 3 vacations the whole time. So you can be sad and grieve, but you can still have hope. I hope you realize we all love you. We want you to be real. We want you to be able to cry without apologizing. I think...I know I have gotten my point across. Take care. There will be more tears to cry. I remember when this award took place WE army was full of pride, positivity, even felt that the performance this time was amazing then everyone else that performs...and suddenly we were like being hit by a truck when we heard their speech, we all cried and shock.. coz even all of us army who were always with them never thought that in 2018 they are considering disbanding, where they are at the top.. that's when we ARMY immediately introspection and reflection as well...we never expected more from BTS only wholeheartedly support their work of music.. all we think is that they are HAPPY with all the do, nothing more!!..they do the job that they love and we Army do ours to support them unconditionaly. thats why when they decide for temporary hiatus this year, we army support them..

These 7 amazing people have change my life, I have always struggled with my health and with emotions but they have helped so much. They don’t know it but they are heroes for so many. Love them now and always, I’m 33 and when they come back from the army I’ll be 36 and waiting with my kids and family exited for them. Army always !

I've watch this about 5 times and everytime I become an emotional wreck .. they have touched all our lives .. as RM said "we are 7 normal boys from Korea" but there is just something special about BTS that just grabs your heart .. I knew watching that final s-each was going to kill your - it killed ARMY everywhere at the time and it still does. They we so open and raw with their thoughts and emotions. Please don’t ever be sorry to be emotional - you care for them and you are feeling their pain - just as we do. Don’t ever feel the need to apologise - we understand. This is what it is to have this deep connection with these 7 guys who we would support to the ends of the earth. They are our family - it doesn’t matter to us that they are these global superstars - they are our family and as such what they go through, we feel - good and bad. I watched that show live and I cried and cried think for close to 3 hours .... thats what the boys do they put you in touch with your emotions, they feel like family and it hurts to think of them having a hard time. There was a lot of pressure on them that year and they had blown up in the US so the pressure they put on themselves to keep going and produce what they consider better music (all BTS music is amazing and has been right from the beginning) also they lost their privacy and it became like living in a goldfish bowl and that must have been so overwhelming for them.

It was Jin's speech that he mentioned that they were considering disbanding and how they continued to do what they did. I look at their current hiatus as a result of this year when they were having such feelings. But their brotherhood and their concern for each other and their fans, I only look at it as a well deserved time off. They need the time away to recharge their batteries, their break away from the tedious practicing and dancing and emotions. Like how they said, the best is yet to come, I have no doubt about it. Unlike other bands that have broken up, you have 7 guys who really care about each other and what they can do for each other and together, and it is more important to them than being a solo artist and only looking out for themselves. I really hope that S. Korea figures out what they want to do about BTS's military status, as it also will factor into the near future and success of these men.

This was a great performance and the beautiful award ceremony was unforgettable. But the journey and back story of 2017-2018 is so moving that the real emotion is nearly hard to comprehend.
