Overlord is a bit slower paced but the reason it is so good is that the writer builds such an incredible world and story behind his characters. I’m not so sure it’s 100% up your alley for what you like to watch but I know for certain it’s one you will enjoy watching the whole way through. It might not have the most fast-paced action, but it draws you into the story the same as AoT does. Some scenes need quite a bit of explanation in overlord so I can’t wait for your thoughts and questions at the end of those reactions!

@@GOTGames If you want something with a lot of twists and questions that keep you engaged I'd recommend Re:zero. It's pretty dark and deep when it comes to the story and characters. There's also two 24 episode seasons right now so you won't be watching it for the next 3 years of your life just to catch up like you would with something like One Piece. Both are really good. Overlord would be more if you want a dark story with a cool villain like main character with a lot more focus on side characters than most things you watch. It also has a ton of world building. Re:zero would be if you want a dark and engaging show that leaves you at the edge of your seat with questions wanting to watch the next.

Also it’s a fun twist on horror, if that’s a genre you like it could be fun to follow along with the Lovecraftian horrors that go bump in the night. There are some very horrifying things shown (or mentioned if the censors wouldn’t let it be shown) from a human perspective but it’s just another day in Papa Bones Tomb of Horrors as far as the protagonists are concerned. Yellow eyed horned girl is Albedo, and yes Overlord is very adult themed. The novels are in fact even further adult themed, quite a few of the gruesomeness had to be cut down or simply alluded to instead. Overlord is really messed up but that's one of the few animes that that "messed up" is completely arbitrary, depending on the person. It is a "dark" themed show, but it however is very mid in what it shows. You have to understand that Overlord is not really an action show, but an amazing storyteller and world building type, with action of course. Which also means that the dark stuff happening in the show, well, some is shown, and the other could be so horrible that you're only hinted at what happens, leaving you to imagine what happened. Everything that happens has consequences in the world which most is not shown in the Anime because of just, overloading information, really. Though you don't need as much information as is in the Light Novel, so it's still really good. Definetely one of my tops to watch, however the Anime quite struggled with showing the content of the Light Novel due to time restrictions and a budget that's not as good as over-enjoyed animes. It does show quite enough though and is a blast to watch.

I stopped watching because it didn't feel like MC was growing. He felt stagnant as an MC. It felt like the whole show is an epilogue. No struggles. No overcoming. MC is already too OP to the point that he isn't very relatable as an MC compared to someone like Eren, Deku, or Yuuji. Even Rimuru, a similarly OP character had some issues to resolve. You could see him get stronger and get wiser with each episode. That's just not the case for Ainz from what I've watched. It's also unsettling that his kingdom is just full of puppets who would obey anything he says. They don't have their own will or vision. Just absolute devotion which is a programmed behaviour. I remember him saying that Albedo had a completely different personality but for some reason, she's now someone who gets off being his slave. Ainz didn't have to convince them to join him. They were all just there. I only watched 1 season. I started season 2 but didn't have enough interest to finish season 2 due to the reasons I mentioned but I'm curious as to what a fan would say. As someone who watched a bit, I know what draws people in but I genuinely want to know what keeps people in this show.
@somebodynamedsomething97512 жыл бұрын
@@LeTzPlaY100 the mc isn't the character that grows and changes but rather he is the perspective the story is from. the rest of the cast is the main draw. how this world adapts to all the changes he and his subordinates cause is quite fun.

The song is called Voracity which is a very old term and one often used when talking about a Glutton, and not in the modern way where a glutton is just someone that eats too much, but the old way, where a capital G Glutton is someone whom can’t get enough of anything they love, be that food, drink, men, women, fine silks, what name it. And often, with a person like that, the line between different kinds of “cravings” blur, and it has been well known that such personality types are often the kind that might ya know… like eat a partner to become “closer” to them, or other such events. Or they may start treating them more as a treasured plaything than a person and accidentally “break their toy” or similar events… a Glutton in a true state of Voracity is one of the most dangerous, unpredictable human forces one could run into. And considering the muses for this song are very much not human… that makes it far worse

11:45 That's because Horror is always used for comedic pauses, or little sketches. There is no such thing as horror directed at the audience, it's always the characters that need to cope with those situations, and so, Horror is never added as a tag to an anime, when it simply has dark themes, or simply has a lot of blood. So dark themes are what you want to look for. Munou na Nana, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi, Higurashi, Elfenlied, Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace, Made in Abyss, Euphoria. Actually, you're right, anime song ('anison' in short) is considered a genre of music. Quoting from wikipedia, "Anime songs consist of theme, insert, and image songs for anime, video game, and audio drama CD series, as well as any other song released primarily for the anime market, including music from Japanese voice actors." What I really like anime songs as a genre is that these songs are actually made with purposes. Like for example, you need a song for a hot-blooded battle anime, so the song's theme is designed to reflect on that. In my opinion, and maybe it's quite a hot take so I apologise in advance, a lot of general modern songs are simply written to make money and that's it. Their lyrics have almost no meaning to them, with most about falling in love or breaking up etc. While anime songs can still be generic, they always have the initial purpose of holding meaning towards the anime they're matched with, and that's what I think is special about anime songs.

This character on the screen is called Albedo and she is litterly crazy and loves the main character which is Ainz(the Overlord) to a mad degree

Overlord has probably the best world building and a really good character development I've seen in anime.

Personally I would recommend the anime 86, since it’s only like 23 episodes but it’s really good for that length - it competes with shows with 3 or 4 seasons

Ooooh,i definitely think it a great anime to watch,even after an anime like aot it definitely hold it's ground as one of the best anime shows out there

I've rewatched Overlord more than 10 times and read the whole novel (16 volumes) two times, it's a Superb show. I fell in love with the anime adaptation, and after I started reading the novel version, I fell even more. There're some boring parts for me, but they're helpful for world building. In conclusion, I would very highly recommend watching it. The thing in Overlord, it might question your moral standpoints, that's why some people can't comprehend some actions and decisions, and dislike the show / MC in the end. 3:11 "Reminds me of Saga of Tanya the Evil" fun fact: Authors of Overlord and Tanya are close friends, you can notice a poster of Overlord in the second episode of Tanya. Horror anime --> Just as you said, there are not that many horror anime, but personally, I'd say, horror anime that worth to check out are: 1) Shiki - a good anime from golden period of anime of 2010. 2) Mieruko-Chan (aka The girl that can see) - a mix of horror and slightly ecchi. 3) Another - what can I say about it ? A must watch og classic. 4)Yami Shibai - differents ghost stories from Japanese culture, 7 seasons with 12 eps in each, each episode is 5 minutes long.

I agree the eyes are quite alluring but I found myself wondering after the texture and firmness of those two protrusions. Are her horns metal or bone? do they feel rubbery, hard or velvety? I have so many questions.

Overlord as the next anime would be awesome. MYTH&ROID anime openings are my favorite.

Overlord is one of my favourite anime, even though there are many points where it doesn´t do the light novels proper justice. Yes, the anime covers MOST of the important parts, but with the way they squashed multiple chapters into single episodes, some details often get lost in the process. This sometimes leads to (at least perceived) plotholes, as important knowledge to the viewer just doesn´t get revealed at the proper time. Those get shown eventually, but sometimes are so subtile, that you don´t even notice them if you are not aware of them. It also (especially season 3&4 and the upcoming movie) sometimes tells events out of order (especially season 4 completely skipped an entire arc, which will be delivered later in the movie, but technically happened somewhere around halfway through season 4). Note: "out of order" in this context relates to the order the Light Novel covers the events, which is NOT chronologically correct. However, by having them sometimes not happen chronologically in order, it makes multiple events connect better, and at the proper time, as some stuff happens simultaneously in different places. So while this sounds like a flaw in the LN, it does overall have its advantages in the long run. Don´t get me wrong: i really loved to watch the anime and finished season 3 before i started to get into reading the LN. As the fool that i was, i expected knowing pretty much most of what happens already, but i got proven wrong pretty quickly. So, if you´re an anime-watcher, and not so much a Light-Novel reader, i still suggest to watch the anime first, and then still read the light novels. even though you technically spoilered yourself the events, it is actually quite entertaining "revisiting" the story of Overlord with some knowledge, only to be surprised by more details and stuff you didn´t know about. It´s actually great to just expierience a scene with the feeling of "oh my, this just makes sense on a different level, that changes everything". You can of course still read first, and then watch the adaption, but you will set yourself up for disappointment (because you will spot the out-of-order parts and skipped content right away)

For horror anime my favourite is Happy Sugar Life. I know, kinda contradictory. But it's not only horror, it has many genres in it. Truly a hidden gem, and very short too. Just 12 episodes

I would recommend Shiki as a horror anime, its not full horro but does have allot of horror elements and its short.
@blood49422 жыл бұрын
Overlord isn't as gory as Aot, but it can still be pretty dark in it's own right, and as it is based on a light novel there is plenty of details left out in the anime, but not to the extent that it ruins the story, pluss it can be fun trying to put the little pieces dropped throughout the story together to try and guess what happens next. It also take's an interesting approach in regards to the protagonist compared to most other anime.

So, the song is called Voracity, it is a cheeky song, but centers around Vore (look this up at your own risk, and if you are over 18)

You should react to the ending of "so i'm a spider, so what?" and it's full version. One word to describe it, chaos. The singer is the same as the one from the ed of youjo senki (both having the same va).

I interpret that the song talks about the depravity of the powerful, how they have an insatiable hunger and can eat as much as they want, and whoever they want regardless of the opinion of the prey or others, lavish banquets with the strangest and most exotic dishes, nothing escapes their hands or mouths because they are powerful and they can taste whatever they want any mundane or sexual pleasure is within their reach whenever they want
